💜 Mental Health Check-In 🩵

How are you doing — really?

💚 I’m doing good
💙 I’m okay
💛 I’m struggling a little
🧡 I’m having a hard time
❤️ I’m really not okay

You can comment a heart, an emoji, a whole paragraph — or nothing at all.

Not comfortable sharing how you’re really doing? That’s okay! You don’t owe anyone an explanation. Just take a second to check in with yourself, too. 💜

And check on someone you love today. Sometimes a simple “Hey, how are you really doing?” can open a conversation someone needed.

DEPRESSION DOESN’T DISCRIMINATE.

Male or female.
Young or old.
Rich or poor.
Homeless or a homeowner.
Married or single.
Surrounded by people or completely alone.

Depression doesn’t care what your life looks like.

You can have everything you’ve ever wanted and still struggle.

You can smile, laugh, and seem perfectly happy while fighting battles nobody knows about.

Depression isn’t weakness. It isn’t a lack of gratitude. And it isn’t always visible.

Check on your people. Even the ones who seem to have it all together. 💜🩵

LET’S TALK ABOUT DEPRESSION.

Depression is more than just feeling sad or having a bad day.

It’s a real mental health condition that affects how a person feels, thinks, sleeps, eats, and handles everyday life.

And it doesn’t always look like sadness.

Depression can look like:

💜 Constant exhaustion, even after sleeping.

🩵 Losing interest in things you once loved.

💜 Feeling numb, empty, hopeless, or overwhelmed.

🩵 Irritability, anger, or withdrawing from others.

💜 Changes in appetite or sleep.

🩵 Difficulty concentrating or completing everyday tasks.

Depression can be influenced by genetics, hormones, physical health, and more.

It’s not laziness. It’s not weakness. And it’s not something someone can simply snap out of.

And most importantly, depression is treatable!

Let’s stop judging what we don’t always understand and start having conversations that matter.

💜🩵 Let’s Drive Out The Darkness — together.

📱 If you’re struggling and need someone to talk to, call or text 988 anytime.

💜🩵 BEHIND DRIVE OUT THE DARKNESS

We’ve realized that while many of you know Drive Out The Darkness, you might not know much about the family behind it!

So allow us to introduce ourselves!

We’re the Fouts family! A blended family of 7, with 5 kiddos, a love for cars, and a passion for our community.

For the past 7 years we’ve owned and operated Shading Rays. Cars have been a huge part of our lives so naturally when we started Drive Out The Darkness we wanted to bring that love into something with a much bigger purpose.

But there’s more to our story than just cars.

We’ve lost loved ones and friends to su***de. We know firsthand the heartbreak, the unanswered questions, and the grief that comes with losing someone this way.

And we know we’re not the only family carrying that grief.

That’s a huge part of why Drive Out The Darkness exists.

We want to bring more awareness to su***de and mental health. We want people to know what resources are available, where to turn for support, and that they don’t have to face their struggles alone.

But we also want to remember those we’ve lost and help connect the people left behind with grief support, understanding, and community.

We’re not mental health professionals. We’re just a family who has experienced loss, loves our community, and believes that these conversations need to happen more often.

Behind the car shows, car meets, awareness posts, and community events is a family of 7 trying to turn something heartbreaking into something meaningful.

And we couldn’t do any of this without the businesses, organizations, friends, family, and community members who continue to support what we’re building.

This is personal to us. And we’re so grateful you’re here to be part of it. 💜🩵

Let’s Drive Out The Darkness — together.

💜🩵 WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY 🌎

Mental health doesn’t discriminate.

You can have a beautiful life and still struggle.
You can be surrounded by people and still feel alone.
You can be the person everyone leans on and still need someone to lean on yourself.

And that’s okay.

Today is a reminder to check on your people. Not just the ones you know are struggling, but the strong ones, the quiet ones, and the ones who always say they’re fine.

And don’t forget to check on yourself, too.

Mental health matters 365 days a year. Not just today. Not just during awareness months.

Let’s keep having the conversations. Let’s keep breaking the stigma. And let’s keep reminding people that they don’t have to face their struggles alone.

Your mental health matters. Your story matters. YOU matter.

💜🩵 Let’s Drive Out The Darkness — together.

If you need someone to talk to, call or text 988 anytime. You don’t have to be in crisis to reach out.
