This week, I’m packing up our house and heading north to Cheyenne, Wyoming. I’ve accepted a full-time position in higher education in Health Sciences & Wellness, and I start next week. My husband and our animals will be joining me later when our house is ready to sell, and we’re looking forward to being closer to family.
If you’ve been following Soil & Sage Collective over the past year, you know this season looked very different than the ones before it. After stepping away from my previous role, I intentionally gave myself permission to do something I hadn’t done in a very long time:
Rest.
Heal.
Reconnect with myself.
That space allowed me to do some deep inner work. It gave me time to write—drafting books that had been living in my heart for years. I created leadership curriculum, facilitated an awesome vision board and collage workshop, started an online bookshop, spent time in nature, and slowly rediscovered the parts of myself that had been buried beneath years of constant doing.
This wasn’t a pause from my purpose, but preparation for it.
Health sciences and wellness have always held a special place in my heart. I’ve been studying, and in many ways practicing, holistic life coaching, holistic stress management coaching, personal fitness training, therapeutic arts, psychology, and leadership development for many years. I’ve always believed that wellness is about caring for the whole person, and I’m excited to return to work that aligns so closely with those values.
While this new role marks the beginning of another chapter, Soil & Sage Collective isn’t going anywhere. I just don’t know exactly what this next season will look like yet.
For now, I’ll continue sharing the quotes, articles, videos, reflections, and ideas that resonate with me—the things that encourage us to slow down, stay curious, and live with intention.
And who knows…when winter settles in, maybe we’ll gather again for another vision board and collage workshop—this time a little farther north.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Thank you for cheering me on and growing alongside me.
Here’s to new beginnings and trusting where the path leads next.
❤️ Chelsea
