Freedom Fur We Are A Non-Profit Organization Who Train Service Dogs For Soldiers Faced With PTSD. Changing One Life At At Time!! This is why we exist!!

FREEDOM FUR = "FREEDOM FOR INDEPENDENCE"

Every day young men and women get the call notifying them that today is the day they say goodbye to their families and head off to engage enemy forces in battle. And everyday men and women return home to their families after fighting bravely while protecting our freedom. However some of those fortunate enough to return home face significant struggles with

the ill effects of combat. Some return home missing limbs, barely escaping with their lives. Imagine trying to return to "life as usual" while at the same time relearning to walk, maneuver a wheelchair or learning Braille. Others face PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) which is another very real threat facing many of our hero’s retuning home. While the sounds of combat may have long faded a whole new battle is being waged. The latest combat statistics have shown that 20% of soldiers deployed in the past six years have been diagnosed with PTSD equaling 300,000. Suicide, social disorders, depression are on the rise and have debilitating effects on our veteran's. While we may be winning the battle overseas many of our veteran’s are loosing ground here at home!! Although we are small, where we lack in size we make up for in passion!! Freedom Fur is founded in an effort to “join forces” with our armed force in order to provide a better quality of life for our veteran’s returning home with both physical and mental disabilities. We have had the pleasure of working with an assistance dog program as trainers and now feel that God has given us the opportunity to expand in this realm. We have had fantastic opportunity to work with some of the best in the field and now want to use the years of training provided to us to help those in need. Our dogs will be fully trained based on the specific needs of the individual. While some clients may need a K9 to assist them with most daily functions (up to 70 commands) others may simply need a well trained obedient dog to comfort them when PTSD episodes occur. We are currently in the process of filing for our 501c3 Nonprofit Tax Exemption status, and hope that we can join others who reach out to our Hero’s returning home from battle!!

Let me introduce you to “Service Dog In Training,” Ms. Scout (aka Scoutie May). She is a fantastic one-year-old f1b Goldendoodle. At her young age, she has probably traveled more than 75% of the human population. She has been on private and commercial planes, trains and automobiles and loves them all. She is highly socialized and is a dream to work with. She has been under the care, love, and guidance of outstanding trainers, who have poured into her since birth. She is a very loving and loyal girl who enjoys learning new things and seeing new places. She will be a fantastic service dog for the right family.

If you are interested in getting to know her, please reach out. She will be a huge blessing to her veteran and family. We will happily assist the selected recipient with fundraising ideas and events. There is a background application and fee that accompanies her adoption.

Please feel free to share this with anyone you know who might be looking for Service Dog.

This precious baby officially joined the Freedom Fur family today. Her name is Eleanor “Lima”. She is super sweet and surprisingly quiet. She got a great start and comes from a wonderful and generous family. She will assist a veteran in need once she gets through basic training.

As much as we have always loved our veterans and service members... Today our pledge to those that serve is even greater. Friday we had the great honor of watching our son Josiah Brown take his oath of service to the USAF. God Bless our son and all of the service members!!
