Recognizing the warning signs of a stroke and acting quickly could save someone you love. May is Stroke Awareness Month, and we want to make sure you know what to look for.

Dr. Mohammad AlMajali, a neuroendovascular surgeon at Ochsner Lafayette General, joined MidDay with Darla to share what families in Acadiana should be aware of about stroke.

Dr. AlMajali says the key is to: B.E.F.A.S.T.
🔹 Balance — sudden loss of balance
🔹 Eyes — sudden trouble seeing
🔹 Face — drooping on one side
🔹 Arms — weakness or numbness
🔹 Speech — slurred or hard to understand
🔹 Time — call 911 right away

A stroke is a medical emergency. Fast action can make a real difference!
