This is my story
For a long time, Zumba wasnāt just something I did⦠it was part of who I am.
Right after I got licensed to teach, I was so excited to start this new chapter. But almost immediately, life had other plans. I developed Achilles tendonitis, and I was told I couldnāt dance.
I canāt even explain how hard that was for me. Dancing is my joy, my stress relief, my energy⦠and suddenly, it was taken away. I felt stuck, frustrated, and honestly a little lost.
At some point, the idea of doing Zumba from a chair crossed my mind. But I kept pushing it away. I worried about what people would think. I felt embarrassed. I told myself, āThatās not real Zumba.ā So I waited⦠for months.
Until one day, I was just tired of waiting.
I went to class, grabbed a chair, and decided to dance anyway.
And in that moment⦠I felt like myself again.
It was freeing. It was joyful. It reminded me that movement isnāt about perfection, itās about feeling alive.
After doing a few sessions like that, something clicked. I realized this wasnāt just for me. There are so many people who feel like they ācanātā join a class because of pain, limitations, or even just fear.
And they deserve to feel this too.
Thatās why Iām starting my modified Zumba (chair) classes.
Because you donāt have to stand to dance.
You donāt have to be perfect to have fun.
You just have to show up.
And I would love to dance with you š
