Congratulations to Dr. Kwon and the Cvor, Cathlab, and office team on performing the 100th TCAR procedure today at Havasu Regional Medical Center!

TCAR (TransCarotid Artery Revascularization) is a minimally invasive treatment for carotid artery disease, a condition where plaque buildup narrows the arteries supplying blood to the brain and raises the risk of stroke. During the procedure, a small incision is made near the collarbone, and blood flow is temporarily reversed to protect the brain from any loose plaque while a stent is placed to restore healthy circulation.

Compared to traditional open surgery, TCAR is designed to lower the risk of stroke during the procedure and typically offers patients a shorter hospital stay and faster recovery. It has become an important option for patients who may be at higher risk from open surgery. This milestone reflects the incredible skill and dedication Dr. Kwon and the entire CV team bring to patient care every day.

Here's to 100 procedures and many more ahead!

Congratulations to our inpatient nursing staff at Havasu Regional Medical Center for winning July's Falls Challenge! Each month, our inpatient and outpatient nursing units go head-to-head in a friendly competition to see who can keep patients safest from falls.

Behind the fun is serious, important work. Our nurses carefully assess each patient's fall risk and put the right safety measures in place, from bed alarms to assistance with walking to keeping personal items within easy reach. This friendly competition helps keep patient safety top of mind every single shift.

A big thank-you to all of our nursing staff for their dedication to keeping patients safe. Congratulations, inpatient nursing, on a job well done!
