VAGINAL BIRTH AFTER C-SECTION (VBAC) 🤍

My son is five months old now, and I’m still trying to put my feelings about his birth into words.

I didn’t put a lot of pressure on myself during pregnancy to have a “successful” VBAC. If you know me, you know I’m very go with the flow—a true “whatever happens, happens” kind of person.

I was really lucky to have prenatal care at a hospital with doctors who supported a VBAC from the start. I was a great candidate. I never went into labor with the girls, so my body had never actually labored and then “failed.”

I was also totally okay with needing another C-section. I can honestly say that one was not harder than the other—because neither is the “easy way out.” They’re just so different.

My VBAC ended up being really healing. I still can’t fully explain why—whether it was the birth itself, having a singleton instead of multiples, my circumstances, or all of it combined (probably this one).

I get asked all the time for VBAC advice, and the truth is I’m still processing the experience myself. A lot of the time, I don’t even know what to say yet—and that feels okay.

What I do know is that I’m thankful I got to experience both. And more than anything, I’m grateful that all of my babies got here safely.

Because birth—no matter how it happens—is pretty bad-ass. 🤍

Big things happening for Laramie & Earthside Birth and Wellness Center

We are excited to announce that we are offering a prenatal satellite clinic in Laramie monthly!

We have collaborated with Dr. JD at Summit Chiropractic in Laramie. They are kindly lending us a beautiful, cozy room to see our amazing Laramie clients for their prenatal visits.

This saves clients from having to make the drive for many of their appointments, which makes a birth center birth much more accessible! We are excited about this partnership and hope this helps our Laramigos with more great birth options!

I have a bit of an announcement moving forward regarding my available service offerings!

Due to some positive transitions unfolding in my life, my availability for on-call birth doula support has sadly changed. After finishing support with my currently clients, I will be unable to accept new doula clients

I will not be stepping away from birthwork entirely, and will continue to offer prenatal and postpartum planning + support and childbirth education!

I hope you will join me as a celebrate what’s ahead!
