We’re beginning the search for a very special horse to join the Hold Your Horses family. ❤️🐴

Silver left some very big shoes to fill. He was our calmest, safest and most trustworthy horse, the kind of horse we could put almost anyone on and know he would take care of them.

We know we may not find another Silver, but we’re hoping our horse friends can help us keep an eye out for a horse with that same kind, steady nature.

Our most important qualities are:

• Extremely calm, safe and trustworthy
• Gentle and patient with children and beginners
• Comfortable with a wide variety of riders
• Gets along well with other horses
• Happy doing easy, relaxing trail rides
• On the younger side
• Comfortable and photogenic enough for occasional photo shoots

A horse joining our program would spend most of its riding time on leisurely trail rides in the desert. Our horses are also part of our homeschool program, so there’s plenty of brushing, attention and love from kids along the way.

We’re open to purchasing the right horse, but we’d also consider a boarding or leasing arrangement.

If you know of a special horse who might fit this description, please reach out or keep us in mind. We’re willing to be patient for the right one. ❤️

We have some very sad news to share 💔
Our beloved Silver became seriously ill with what appeared to be severe colic. Despite everything David did to help him, Silver passed away the following morning.

Silver was truly priceless. He was the safest and most trustworthy horse I have ever known, and the one we trusted above all others. He gently and faithfully cared for people of all ages and abilities, giving so many their first ride and helping countless others find their confidence.

Silver was the undisputed leader of our herd. He was also Misty’s best friend and constant companion. His absence is deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.

So many people felt safe and loved with Silver, and we know he held a very special place in many hearts. We will miss him more than words can express, and we are deeply grateful for every life he touched and every beautiful memory he gave us.

Rest peacefully, sweet Silver. We will miss you so much. You were one of a kind. 🩶

Our small-group homeschool program combines meaningful horse interaction, outdoor play, creativity, movement, and friendship.

Classes are facilitated by owners Kim and David in a safe, fun, nurturing environment, with a maximum of 6 students per class.

🍁Fall homeschool classes are offered in 4-week sessions:
* Single class: 90 minutes weekly, $180 per 4-week session
* Double class: 2.5 hours weekly, $350 per 4-week session

🐴🤩 Stable Connections Homeschool Program 📚

This is such a beautiful time of year to be outside with horses, friends and fresh air! ☀️🐴

We currently have one opening in our Tuesday homeschool group (10:00–11:30 AM).

Stable Connections is a small, hands-on class which blends:
-hands-on learning
-meaningful interaction with horses -outdoor play, creativity and movement
-exploring outdoors
and building confidence along the way!

Classes are facilitated by owners Kim and David, and we keep the group small (max 6 students) so every child gets plenty of time participating and learning.

Horses + flowers! 🌸🐴🌻

We had such a fun day in our Stable Connections class this week! We’ve been seeing so many colorful wildflowers popping up in the desert out back, so we decided to take a trail ride and look for them! We took photos, looked up the names of the flowers, and each of the girls made a “Wildflower Field Journal”🌸🌻
