New Relationship Energy can feel incredible.
But sometimes the biggest shift isn’t just in the romantic connection — it’s in everything around it.
Friendships can unintentionally get deprioritized.
Family dynamics can change.
And sometimes people find themselves slowly drifting away from their own routines, hobbies, and sense of identity.
NRE isn’t the problem.
Losing balance is.
Healthy relationships — monogamous or non-monogamous — allow you to stay connected to your friendships, your family, and yourself while still enjoying the excitement of new connection.
Your life should expand when love enters it, not shrink.
Save this if you’ve ever noticed how NRE can ripple through your life.

Love languages don’t disappear just because you’re poly — they multiply.

Assumptions create distance.
Curiosity creates connection.

This February, let’s stop loving people the way we want to give love — and start loving them the way they receive it.

"Pleasure isn’t something you prove.
It’s something you experience.

You don’t owe anyone s*x, romance, or emotional labor — on Valentine’s Day or any other day."

Week 1...
Romance doesn’t need a rulebook.
It needs alignment.

If your relationship feels nourishing, respectful, and consensual — you’re doing it right.

February doesn’t get to define love for us.
We get to define it ourselves.

Control is not love.
Control is not care.
Control is not protection.
When a partner starts deciding who you can talk to, where you can go, or how you’re allowed to exist in your own home… that’s not connection — that’s control.

And here’s the part we don’t talk about enough:
Control only works where boundaries are missing.
When we don’t set boundaries, someone else steps in and sets limitations instead.
And those are very, very different things.
A healthy relationship, monogamous or non-monogamous, honors autonomy, individuality, friendships, privacy, and personal freedom.
Love should expand your world, not shrink it.
Healthy love requires trust, not control.
And boundaries aren’t punishments — they’re pathways to emotional safety.
Save this if it hit home. Share it with someone who needs the reminder. 🤎
