Guess what?? Today is my birthday… and it’s also Mental Health Awareness Month 💚
What a beautiful reminder that our emotional well-being deserves the same love, care, and attention as our physical health.

As I celebrate another trip around the sun, I’m reflecting on the importance of rest, connection, compassion, and asking for support when we need it. Healing isn’t always linear, and caring for our mental health is not a luxury, it’s essential.
May this month be a gentle invitation to slow down, check in with yourself, and honor all that you’re carrying.

This week’s class will be a nourishing Chair Yoga practice focused on supporting mental and emotional balance. Using the steady support of the chair, we’ll move through grounding breathwork, gentle movement, mindful stretching, and deep relaxation designed to calm the nervous system and create space for ease and self-compassion.

This practice is accessible, supportive, and perfect for anyone feeling stressed, overwhelmed, emotionally fatigued, or simply in need of a softer approach.
Whether you join us live or practice later with the recording, I hope this class offers you a moment to reconnect with yourself and remember that you do not have to carry everything alone.

As Mother’s Day approaches, I want to take a moment to hold space for all that this day can bring.

For some, it is filled with love, gratitude, and celebration. For others, it may carry grief, longing, or quiet heartache from missing a mother, navigating complicated relationships, or walking the tender path of wanting to become a mother. Wherever you find yourself, please know that all of your feelings are welcome here. There is no “right” way to move through this day.

Mother’s Day can also be an invitation to honor the many forms of caregiving we embody, whether as mothers, daughters, friends, partners, or simply as compassionate humans tending to one another. The energy of nurturing lives within all of us.

As you move through this week, may you offer yourself the same kindness and care you so freely give to others.

"To describe my mother would be to write about a hurricane in its perfect power… or the climbing, falling colors of a rainbow." — Maya Angelou

And as we honor caregivers in all their forms, I warmly invite you to mark your calendar for our Third Annual Caregiver’s Retreat:

Sacred Pause: Rest for the Caregiver’s Heart
November 20th–22nd, 2026
Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health

This special weekend is a chance to step away, replenish, and be deeply supported in a community of care. I would truly love to share this experience with you!

Wishing you a gentle, meaningful Mother’s Day, whatever that looks like for you.

With love and gratitude,

Cindy Yaple 💛

Today we enjoyed an uplifting, accessible Kapha balancing class that helped to increase vitality and help us feel clear and bright. Everyone except Hazel, she enjoyed a nap 😴

As we continue our journey through the elements, I warmly invite you to join me for our upcoming online class where we will explore the light, expansive qualities of the Air element.

Air is the element of movement, breath, and freedom. It is connected to the heart space, inviting openness, compassion, and a sense of spacious ease within both body and mind. In our practice, we will gently weave together breathwork, fluid movement, and mindful awareness to cultivate a feeling of lightness and inner balance.

Together, we’ll explore:
Expansive, heart-opening postures
Breath-centered movement to awaken prana (life force)
Mudras and affirmations to support clarity and ease
A calming relaxation to settle into stillness and presence

As you move through your week, consider this reflection: Where can you invite more space, softness, and freedom into your life?

"The air you breathe is the thread that ties you to life." ~unknown
