Unpopular opinion: The most important hour of ABA each month isn’t with your child…it’s with YOU.

Every parent training is packed with strategies, breakthroughs, and those “OMG, that makes so much sense!” moments that change the way you parent forever.
The parents who attend consistently become their child’s greatest therapist outside of session (and it shows).

We are beyond incredibly grateful that each of our parents that trust us to walk alongside them in this autism world✨

✨ ACTION DISCRIMINATION: THE SECRET SKILL YOUR KIDDOS ARE USING EVERY DAY!

“Touch your nose!”
“Clap your hands!”
“Jump up!”
“Give me a high five!”

Seems simple, right?

But for many children, especially those with autism, being able to hear an instruction and correctly identify WHICH action to do is a HUGE developmental milestone!

This skill is called Action Discrimination ...which is the ability to tell the difference between actions and respond appropriately.

💡 Why is it important?

✅ Following directions at school
✅ Participating in group activities
✅ Learning new skills faster
✅ Improving communication
✅ Building independence

Imagine being in a room where everyone is speaking a language you don’t fully understand and trying to figure out what action they’re asking you to do. That’s why we celebrate these wins BIG at Spectrum Squad! 🎉

This entire week we celebrated our amazing Behavior Technicians! They are truly the backbone of Spectrum Squad and we wouldn't be able to create radical change in the lives of children with Autism if it weren't for them. ☀️✨🎉
