Shaker Pediatrics PC Welcome! Our goal is to provide comprehensive, compassionate and high quality medical care to children and adolescents in a friendly and nurturing environment.

We have been keeping children healthy in the capital district for over 50 years.

Flu season is upon us, and we are seeing increased flu activity in our area. To help protect your family, we have added an additional Saturday clinic on November 7th.

Please call our office to schedule your flu vaccine appointment. Vaccines will also be available during any upcoming scheduled well-child visits.

2026-2027 flu vaccines are available now! Please call the office to schedule one of our available clinics!

We also wanted to let you know that your child, born after May 1, 2026, is eligible to receive an RSV monoclonal antibody to help protect against severe RSV illness during the upcoming RSV season which begins October 1st.

Please contact our office via phone or portal ASAP if you are interested, so we can ensure we are ordering the correct quantity. Once we have the product, we will notify you so you can set up your appointment.

William O’Dwyer M.D. (1936-2026)

It is with profound sadness that Shaker Pediatrics PC announces that Dr. Willam O'Dwyer, another of our founding doctors has passed away.

Dr. O’Dwyer joined the practice of Dr. William Boland and Dr. William Petersen in 1970 and formed Boland, Petersen and O’Dwyer, M.D.s that eventually became Shaker Pediatrics. The three Bill’s worked out of both O’Dwyer’s and Boland’s homes before building their original office on Sunset Drive in Latham.

Dr O’Dwyer retired from the practice in 2003 to spend more time enjoying his family, his beloved 2nd home in Chestertown, NY and travel more to Ireland and Hilton Head, SC.

He will be greatly missed by all the original office staff and doctors that remain and we will strive to continue his legacy that he helped to form so many years ago!
