One of my greatest joys as a mother is watching Carter grow into a young man who understands that knowledge, culture, and education are just as important as chasing his dreams. Attending the Martha’s Vineyard Black Book Festival Martha’s Vineyard Black Book Festival with him was more than an event, it was a proud mom moment. Watching him experience Black excellence, meet inspiring people, and continue expanding his world reminds me that every opportunity we expose our children to becomes part of who they are becoming.
