Good morning, family and friends,
Yesterday it was a one year anniversary of me turning the light off in my office for the last time. I was gonna post yesterday but I got busy. I thought with time, I would stop missing the office as much. It’s not really the office, but the people I came into contact with that I miss so much. At times I find myself smiling, laughing, and even tearing when I think about you all. I don’t mean to sound of emotional, but that’s just how it is.
I don’t really get to see Cathy very much. Summer I see a few times a month as she helps with my Billing for OPR. I saw Montana at Walmart and she looks great. I miss them all so much. I’ve been sending babies to Dr. Kahle. He’s working for Amber well in Lansing.
I’ve been doing a lot of reading, including the series by Tess Gerritsen that was the inspiration for the TV series, Rizzoli and Isles.
My husband and I have watched I think, every Star Trek series available. We’ve watched the movies also. My favorite character is Quork. When I was growing up, my dad worked at North American Rockwell. They built the Apollo spaceships at least part of them. I remember going to Summer family day and going in the Apollo spaceship. It was very small. I’m very old, but I think if they took volunteers to travel in space I’d volunteer. My daughter sent me the name of two books about the Cosmos and black holes. They just came. I can’t wait to start reading them.
My best friend Denise from second grade had major back surgery about a month ago. It’s taking her a long time to recuperate. I talk to her frequently. She lives in Arizona. I miss her and love her.
My husband had major oral surgery last Thursday and looks like he was in a boxing match and lost. He has a lot of recuperating to do. He’s been a real trooper.
I continue to enjoy seeing you all out in the community, Walmart and OPR having babies. OPR had 342 babies in the month of July. It was very busy.
My husband and I are planning a couple trips to Silver Dollar City and one to Dollywood. We planned the trip before Dolly Parton passed away. It’s always been on my bucket list. Not sure we’ll make it this year but hope too.
I purchased my first two pumpkin/gourds. I love the fall. I can’t wait to get my mums. We used to have big clay pumpkins, but they all got broken in our move. We went to Sutherlands yesterday to look at things. Clay pumpkins are outrageous. For a decent size one they won $120. It’s crazy. Just have to keep looking.
I sewed a penguin chef making a pie for my granddaughter. She didn’t seem too excited, but her brothers liked it. I am working on a bedazzled snowman picture. Not sure if I’ll even frame it or what I’ll do with it.
My grandson started playing flag football. He is fantastic. He even tried to do a lateral pass. His coach thought he was crazy. I told him that looks like something Travis Kelce would do. All my grandkids are very much into sports. I try to help, but don’t begin to help getting them to all their practices. They have fantastic parents!
I miss you all, think of you always and wish you all the best.
Always for the children,
Lori
