Good morning, family and friends,

Yesterday it was a one year anniversary of me turning the light off in my office for the last time. I was gonna post yesterday but I got busy. I thought with time, I would stop missing the office as much. It’s not really the office, but the people I came into contact with that I miss so much. At times I find myself smiling, laughing, and even tearing when I think about you all. I don’t mean to sound of emotional, but that’s just how it is.

I don’t really get to see Cathy very much. Summer I see a few times a month as she helps with my Billing for OPR. I saw Montana at Walmart and she looks great. I miss them all so much. I’ve been sending babies to Dr. Kahle. He’s working for Amber well in Lansing.

I’ve been doing a lot of reading, including the series by Tess Gerritsen that was the inspiration for the TV series, Rizzoli and Isles.

My husband and I have watched I think, every Star Trek series available. We’ve watched the movies also. My favorite character is Quork. When I was growing up, my dad worked at North American Rockwell. They built the Apollo spaceships at least part of them. I remember going to Summer family day and going in the Apollo spaceship. It was very small. I’m very old, but I think if they took volunteers to travel in space I’d volunteer. My daughter sent me the name of two books about the Cosmos and black holes. They just came. I can’t wait to start reading them.

My best friend Denise from second grade had major back surgery about a month ago. It’s taking her a long time to recuperate. I talk to her frequently. She lives in Arizona. I miss her and love her.

My husband had major oral surgery last Thursday and looks like he was in a boxing match and lost. He has a lot of recuperating to do. He’s been a real trooper.

I continue to enjoy seeing you all out in the community, Walmart and OPR having babies. OPR had 342 babies in the month of July. It was very busy.

My husband and I are planning a couple trips to Silver Dollar City and one to Dollywood. We planned the trip before Dolly Parton passed away. It’s always been on my bucket list. Not sure we’ll make it this year but hope too.

I purchased my first two pumpkin/gourds. I love the fall. I can’t wait to get my mums. We used to have big clay pumpkins, but they all got broken in our move. We went to Sutherlands yesterday to look at things. Clay pumpkins are outrageous. For a decent size one they won $120. It’s crazy. Just have to keep looking.

I sewed a penguin chef making a pie for my granddaughter. She didn’t seem too excited, but her brothers liked it. I am working on a bedazzled snowman picture. Not sure if I’ll even frame it or what I’ll do with it.

My grandson started playing flag football. He is fantastic. He even tried to do a lateral pass. His coach thought he was crazy. I told him that looks like something Travis Kelce would do. All my grandkids are very much into sports. I try to help, but don’t begin to help getting them to all their practices. They have fantastic parents!

I miss you all, think of you always and wish you all the best.

Always for the children,

Lori

Good afternoon,
I am looking for someone that can come to my 2022 Keystone Passport and fix a few things.
1. Igniters on oven and 3rd burner need to be replaced. They light with lighter.
2. Area around hot water heater has slow leak. Not leaking water, more chemical smell.

Thanks,
Lori

Dear family, and friends,

Just got back from a trip to Virginia to visit my daughter, son-in-law and grand dog Franklin. It was a long grueling trip, but beautiful scenery, and a good time with my husband, my daughter and her family.

We stayed at KOA‘s in Indianapolis, Harpers Ferry and Batesville, Indiana. They were all nice except the last one was kind of iffy.

While in Virginia, I met my first grand dog, we toured my daughter’s beautiful home, went to the air space Museum and Harpers Ferry.
We ate at some delicious restaurants.

I brought my daughter the picture that she created of me and her when she was really little. It hung in room one of my office for 25 years. It’s my favorite painting ever. No well-known artist can compare. My daughter wasn’t too excited to get it back. Go figure.

It was amazing that in 5 to 15 minutes I was in West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Virginia. It really is beautiful out there.

As usual, Teddy and Ginger went to Candice‘s house. They really enjoy being there. It’s so nice not to have to worry about them. They do get a little spoiled with attention.

I do still need to get the lighters fixed on my passport’s oven and third burner fixed. I can’t find the dad‘s information from previous posts that I had to take down.

Going to world fun with my grandkids this weekend. I haven’t been there in a while. Hopefully it’s not too hot.

Please be safe for Independence Day. I was thinking back and remember celebrating the 200th birthday of the United States of America. It makes me feel really old. A lot has changed in the past 50 years. Some not too good but a lot very good. Having my children tops the list, but you, my families come in a high second. I love you all and miss you very much.

Always for the children,

Lori

Good evening, family, and friends,

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY TO ALL FATHERS OUT THERE!

I haven’t posted on Facebook for a while because I inadvertently spoke about people without their permission and upset them. I removed most of my recent post. I was down in the dumps for a while. I’ve realized over the past couple of days I can’t live with my life in the dumps all the time. There is too much good in my life.

It’s Father’s Day, although my father was a tyrant and just not a nice person, I miss him today. He’s been gone greater than two decades.

I have had children with two husbands. With my first husband of 19 years, I have two daughters and he has passed away over a decade ago. With my husband Jeff of 25 years, I have one son. These two men are completely different. They both have good points and bad points just like us all, but I am so grateful for the gift that they’ve given me of my children.

Although I love my husband Jeffrey, he’s trying to push me to my limits. Yes they totaled my green tundra Nessie 2….. mind you I had seven months to pay her off. Jeff and I went to get our things out of Nessy 2, the really nice man ( I can’t remember his name) at B Street Collision knew my pain. We had visited him a couple times before for our tundra and our GMC. I told him I didn’t wanna come see him again. Told him he was really nice, but this was really hard saying goodbye to my Nessie 2. He gave me a hug and he told me to stop by sometime and visit and have a cuppa coffee with him.

I was making rounds in the Nursery this morning at Overland Park regional Medical Center and came across a dad with his first child. This has happened multiple times but why it amazed me so much today I don’t know. Maybe because it’s Father’s Day. He asked me to show him how to change a diaper. This was his child’s first diaper change we talk through it and then he did it. So you all are parents or at least have changed diapers. How long does it take to change a diaper on average. For some reason, I looked at my watch when we first got started and when we ended. Nine minutes plus a few seconds. He did a fantastic job and I praised him. It made his day. It is for things like this that I love my job in the Nursery at OPR.

I work with some fantastic people. Each day I’m amazed and grateful to be allowed to work with them and have their friendship. Lately there have been times that I feel empty and sad. But I spend some time with these ladies and start laughing. They truly care about each other and me.

I spoke to my best friend Denise, gazelle, today. Although she was getting ready to get in her car with her husband to come back to Arizona from Northern California she took the time to talk with me and didn’t rush me. This woman has been with me since second grade. She is my rock and she is solid. The world would be such a better place if everyone had a friend like her. Value your friendships and have them grow over the years.

I frequently speak with my sister Debra who lives in Temecula California. She and her husband Brian have been married forever. I enjoy talking with her and she is always there for me. She just became a grandma again. I am so happy for them. She and her husband have a home up in Tahoe that I’d like to go see. I keep saying sure I’m coming, but I never do. I need to do this. There are so many things I want to do. I just need to get organized and make it happen. It truly is crazy how the older you get the faster time goes.

You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I miss you all and enjoy seeing some of you out in the community.

Always for the children,

Lori

PS I still need to fix the igniters on my passport oven. She’s going to be staying with us at Sun Catcher. Taking down my previous post, I lost the name of the dad who does this work. I need to set something up with you after the second week of July. Sorry I probably have your name somewhere. I just can’t find it.

Good evening, family, and friends,

Wednesday, I drove to Springfield and stayed in the KOA there. I went to Buckys and Silver Dollar City just to walk around and pick up an item I saw on my last trip and decided I needed. It was weird being there alone. I had a cinnamon roll all to myself. I got to go in stores that I wanted to go into at my own pace. Life was good. I stayed Wednesday night and Thursday night in Springfield. Friday I drove to Acola, Mo to stay in an RV resort. My husband was meeting me there.

So those of you that really know me know my favorite color is green and that my Toyota tundra is green and I love her. Her name is Nessie 2. Nessie 1 is another story. Well, I’ve been driving our GMC 250 and my husband‘s been driving my Nessie2. 3 miles out of the RV site, my husband pulled out in front of another truck and most likely totaled my Nessie 2. I couldn’t make this up if I tried. The accident was very similar to my son’s accident except for no one flew in the air. I am very grateful that no one was hurt. No one except my Nessie 2…..

We have AAA and I told my husband to call them to tow Nessie 2. Instead an independent tow truck towed Nessie to a garage and $880 later I’m having a past patient tow it to Kansas City. ( I am so grateful to him). Yes $880.00 to tow and store for 4 days. Mind you the Storage is not even inside a gated area.

To top it off, my husband and I like to play cards. We play Shanghai, which is kind of like a rummy game. Do you think he’d let me win one game? Nope. We were supposed to be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary, which is June 2. This has been a bummer and not a very good weekend.

I am fried more than a McDonald’s, french fry.

If anyone knows how to easily replace two igniters on my RV range and oven I would happily learn from you. The gas works, and you can light it with a match, but it won’t light on its own. Two of the burners work, the third and oven does not.

Please everyone be careful. I thought after a while I would stop missing everyone, but I only miss each and every one of you more each day. Please keep in touch, I love hearing about everything you’re accomplishing and your life struggles as I’m sharing my life struggles with you. OK, I’m ready to be done with struggles for a while. Only good things in the future for all of us!!!

Always for the children

Good afternoon, family and friends,
Sorry I missed Easter. I hope you all had a blessed Easter. I am very blessed with my family, friends and work. I also consider chocolate a blessing. I spent Easter at the nursery and then with my daughter and her family. I love making cookies and decorating Easter eggs with them.

Well, I asked you to keep your fingers and toes crossed that they would be able to fix my air conditioner on the seventh try but they were unable to fix it and had to order another part. My husband and I drove to Alvarado Texas and looked at class a RVs. I couldn’t find that I like until the end. We spent four hours going in and out of class A’s. It was gorgeous. It was also $289,000. It was a diesel pusher. After strongly considering it just couldn’t justify spending that much money. It was though absolutely gorgeous. We wound up getting a new grand design reflection that’s a few feet longer and has lots of storage. Moving wasn’t very fun, but most of it has been finished. I still have three boxes to put away. I just have a problem accumulating crap.

I have some big pots and I started planting some vegetables. I have brussels sprouts which are growing crazy, small tomatoes that are growing OK, cantaloupes that are doing not that well and peppers that are sprouting well. All the rain has helped. I planted some flowers that are really growing beautiful. It’s kind of shocking.

Hope to go to Silver Dollar City later this month. Nothing else is new. Pretty boring life.

I hope you are all doing well and I miss you. Keep in touch through email, text or Facebook. I’ve been very happy to see many of you having babies at OPR.

Hi families and friends,

Besides dealing with RV issues,my life is pretty dull. We unwinterized our Little passport and that’s what we’re living in right now while our grand design’s air conditioner for the sixth time is getting fixed. Please keep your toes and fingers crossed that it’s fixed once and for all. The only saving grace is it’s under warranty.

I finished my wreath and I think it looks pretty good. I’ll send a picture.

I started working on a cross for my church. I’ll send a picture.

My husband and I and some friends went to the dinner theater and saw Elton and Elvis and it was pretty good. But the show was good and catching up with friends was good.

The dogs are staying with Candice while we’re fooling around with our RVs. When I tell them they’re going to Candice‘s house they get excited. She’s really good to them.

Still working a lot in the nursery and enjoying it. I do still miss all my families. It doesn’t get any easier as time goes by.

I’m planning a trip to Alexandria Virginia to visit my daughter Danielle and her family. I’m taking all her belongings that I have in storage to her. Excited to see her home and spend some time with her. We’re going to stay at the Gettysburg KOA camp for a few nights.

we plan to make a couple trips to Silver Dollar City with my daughter Jackie and her family. I have to plan on taking the grandkids to world of fun and oceans of fun. I will not be going on the roller coasters…..

I hope you are all healthy and well. Be safe this spring and summer. Remember no driving with cell phones in your pockets.

Take care, always for the children,

Lori,

Hi family and friends,

I can hardly believe March is already here. I can also hardly believe I have not done any outpatient pediatrics for six months. I miss you all terribly. Time has really flown.

Nothing very exciting! Ginger my golden retriever continues to get bigger and bigger and Teddy my Shih Tzu stays the same.

I continue to work on my wreath, however I hadn’t worked on it for several weeks and just picked it up again.

Looking forward to going to Virginia this summer to see my daughter, Danielle and her husband, Steve, and a few trips to Silver Dollar City with my grandkids.

I continue to work at Trinity House the first Saturday of the month from 10 to 1 PM. This is located at Trinity Lutheran Church across the street from Leavenworth high school. It’s a food and clothes pantry.

I’ve been getting a lot of recipes off of Facebook and I bought this waffle iron that looks pretty interesting. I’m very lucky. My husband will eat almost anything and not complain. Unless it’s brussels sprouts, lima beans or sauerkraut. I love all of those.

Hope to hear from all of you at some time!

Always for the children,
Lori

Happy Valentine’s Day, family, and friends! I hope you’ve had a wonderful day today and have had lots of chocolate!!
My husband surprised me with orange roses, my favorite. I’m attaching a picture. They’re gorgeous!
I spent a good portion of the day welcoming in new babies at Overland Park regional Medical Center.I’ve attached a picture of myself and nurse Jackie with our Valentines board. I’m so honored to have my name on the board.
I went to Walmart today and saw so many families. Everyone seems to be doing fine. I really enjoy talking to people and hearing about things going on.
Nothing new with their RV……
You are all in my thoughts and prayers,

Love,
