I was THAT mom (the one I swore Id never be):
The yelling mom who then carries the burden of guilt,
The mom who uses words to guilt kids into moving quicker or helping me,
The overwhlemed mom who’s always running on empty 😰.

I wanted to be the 🤩 fun mom!
The disciplined mom! 🏃🏼‍♀️‍➡️
The mom who had endlessness patience to sow into her children…..🫅
But I just couldn’t get there!!!!! 😂

Then one day, a powerful woman of God empowered me to finally bridge the chasm of the mom I wanted to be and the one I actually was…….
She taught me the power of rising before my household to seek the Lord and feed my spirit before launching into the wildness of day as a mama of 4 littles, wife, and entrepreneur.

Within days of committing to this practice, the thermostat 🌡️ in our family changed from chaos to peace. The thermostat in my soul changed from overwhelm to calm (most days 🤣 ) and able.
And I found that I had time left over each day I tithed that time to the Lord, to complete not only what needed done, but time leftover to enjoy more life giving activities, relationships, and moments. 💪🏼

Feed your spirit MORE than your flesh and emotions: (your still going to mess up and get it wrong along the way)

If you spend more time filling your spirit and mind with life giving words and thoughts rather than scrolling, watching shows, and your life, will, and emotions will come more into balance and you’ll be able to use your emotions for beauty and love and building up rather than your emotions controlling you, robbing you of time, joy, relationships, and resources.

This mrssage usnt just for moms….its for anybe who wants more actual control over their day to day.
I hope this helps!!!! 🙋‍♀️

This practice has already transformed my life! Look forward to Sally’s book!

A while back, I pondered creating a movement of women called, “Just One Cup” and then found out the URL was already taken. I had thought, wouldn’t it be great if women all over the world took just one cup of something delicious or hot to at least one person a week, to love them, encourage them, make time for them—and still I would love to see a movement like that happen—maybe at least 100 women taking me up on the idea.
Over time, my teatime habit became a foundational discipling tool for me. Taking time in the middle of a busy day to focus on a real live person and share our hearts over tea or coffee became a way of connecting with other women, with neighbors, and especially with my children—and even with my swirling, hurried self.
Eventually, I developed the practice of hosting people in my home for tea. To say, “You are welcome at my table. I have prepared for you. I would like to know you” was a way of inviting people into my life in a personal way.
Teatime discipleship became a habit of stopping, looking someone in the eye, and making a space that says, “I care about you.” It was also an unthreatening way to begin getting to know them, asking them questions, and gaining access to their hearts. And it was an unparalleled way to build and nurture friendships. Deep friendships and connected relationships happen best when intentional encouragement is planned and given on a regular basis.
Thanks for all of the wonderful encouragement and texts and messages this week. You all encourage me so much. Be sure to preorder your copy of by clicking here: https://amzn.to/3jCVytN

Waking up to my own self focus is one of the greatest discoveries of my life, because until I did, I was trapped in loneliness and unhappiness.
The most important key was turning my selfishness into service…..in other words, look for ways to bless others as often and as much as possible.
Then, suddenly, my pools of emptiness turned into gardens of rich, deep, precious relationships, the true riches of life.

Don't Panic - This Is Just A Test!

When we are hit suddenly by difficulties or tragedy or financial problems or sickness—or when we are facing long-time challenges, what do we do? I have learned from experience that one thing we don’t want to do is to be overcome by panic.

After I went through a very difficult time in my life many years ago, I kept tormenting myself with all the unknown questions. Why did this happen to me? What could I have done differently? And on and on I asked the Lord these questions. And finally, God spoke to me so clearly and said, “Quit asking questions and realize that you have an enemy who is seeking to destroy you.”

Let’s get real practical. God wants you to trust Him, but Satan wants you to panic. When I realized this, that day, I quit asking questions about that situation and I chose to fight the real enemy. Satan is the enemy of our souls. He wanted me to remain in a state of depression and guilt. He wanted to keep me from my purpose. When God spoke that to me, it was a turning point for me. I decided, Satan will not triumph over me! I will not play his game! I will trust God with my life and move forward! And God has been so good to me!

There are pivotal turning points in our lives when we must choose to trust God instead of allowing ourselves to be overtaken by panic and fear. I want to encourage you with a passage that helped me during times when I was faced with feelings of panic and fear.

“Praise the Lord. Blessed are those who fear the Lord, who find great delight in His commands. Their children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches are in their houses, and their righteousness endures forever.

EVEN IN THE DARKNESS light dawns for the upright, for those who are gracious and compassionate and righteous. Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice.

Surely the righteous will NEVER BE SHAKEN; they will be remembered forever. They will have NO FEAR of bad news;their hearts are STEADFAST, TRUSTING in the Lord. Their hearts are SECURE, they will have NO FEAR;in the end they will look in TRIUMPH on their foes.”

Psalm 112:1-8

If you are struggling in the area of fear, worry or anxiety, make time today to meditate on this passage and remember that with God on your side—you have NO NEED TO PANIC! Don’t panic—this is just a test.

Love You! Signed, Lisa

Never underestimate the power of your words. Your words will break through for you or they will hold you captive...they build up or they destroy. Choosing the words that leave our lips is one of the few things in life we have control over...so choose well!

You can’t always do everything
You need to prioritize what is most important
Ask: is this what God has told me to do in this season? Am I doing this for God or because I feel obligated? Will this leave an eternal i@pact? Can someone else do this so I can do what only o can do?
Don’t get me wrong! Serving is sooo important. I’m all about serving and helping. BUT, It’s so easy to get caught up doing “good things” that you may not be doing the “right things”.
God calls us to do good to all, go the extra mile and do what we can, BUT that’s as long as those good things don’t pull you away from the most important things you are called to do.
If your frazzled, overwhelmed, and even resenting the obligations and commitments you’ve made, it might be time to reassess how your spending your time and prayerfully consider if you should lay something down or delegate it to someone else.
