Today, we’re celebrating the one-year anniversary of the UF Health Mobile Stroke Treatment Unit serving our community!

In just 12 months, our dedicated team has:
🚑 Responded to nearly 1,000 dispatches
🏥 Cared for more than 400 patients
⚡ Performed more than 100 critical interventions

Every minute matters during a stroke. By bringing advanced stroke expertise, imaging and treatment directly to patients before they reach the hospital, our Mobile Stroke Treatment Unit helps reduce time to treatment and gives patients the best possible chance for recovery.

This milestone reflects the dedication of our physicians, nurses, paramedics and EMS partners who work together to deliver life-saving care when it matters most.

A special thank you to The Villages Public Safety Department for your partnership over the past year. Your collaboration and commitment to rapid stroke response have been instrumental in helping us bring expert stroke care directly to the patients who need it most.

Had a great morning at the Leesburg Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast! We had the privilege of speaking on behalf of Stroke Awareness Month alongside our very own Neurointerventional Surgery & Diagnostic Neuroradiology surgeon, Dr. Sean Meagher.

It was wonderful meeting some new faces and catching up with familiar ones. Opportunities like these allow us to continue providing important healthcare education and stroke awareness to our community and beyond.

We were also proud to have our Mobile Stroke Treatment Unit on site helping spread awareness and showcasing the importance of rapid stroke care.

In honor of Stroke Awareness Month we wanted to share one of the easiest stroke awareness tips to remember is BEFAST:
B – Balance loss
E – Eyesight changes
F – Face drooping
A – Arm weakness
S – Speech difficulty
