Before I found yoga, I was actually lost. Mentally. Physically. Spiritually.

When I started yoga, I hadn’t committed to anything for myself before other than my own self destructive lifestyle.

When I started yoga, the progress was painfully slow. I wanted to quit a million times. Making it through an hour long class wasn’t even an option.

When I started yoga, I didn’t know how to be honest with myself.

I had spent so long disconnecting from my own body and emotions that I didn’t even realize how much I was suffering.

I wasn’t a happy person.

And it showed up in every area of my life.

But I kept showing up.

Because eventually you reach a point where staying the same hurts more than changing. That was the turning point.

Not the day everything magically got better.

The day I decided I was going to commit even when it felt hard. Even when I wasn’t seeing results. Even when I questioned if it was doing anything at all.

In time, something started to shift.

My body got stronger, but so did my mind. I learned how to slow down instead of constantly running from myself or constantly worrying about others first.

I learned how to regulate my emotions instead of being controlled by them.

I became more aware of my thoughts, my reactions, my habits, and the stories I was telling myself.

I started processing life instead of just surviving it.

As my body became more capable, I became more confident. I trusted myself again. I carried myself differently. I handled challenges differently.

Yoga didn’t remove the hard seasons. It gave me the tools to move through them and a place to practice without judgement.

Over the last 10+ years, yoga has met me in every chapter of my life through grief, uncertainty, burnout, healing, growth, and everything in between.

It has taught me resilience. Presence. Patience. Self respect. And maybe most importantly…that transformation isn’t something that happens to you.

It’s something you practice. Something you choose to dedicate yourself to because you know what’s on the other side is your best self.

Every single day.

If someone had told the version of me who walked into that first class where I’d be ten years later, I never would have believed them.

And that’s exactly why I’ll never stop encouraging people to begin. Because you don’t have to believe in the transformation yet. You just have to be willing to take the first step.

This painting has lived in my space since winter. I still turn to it for inspo multiple times a week.

It was given to me by one of my private students during a season when I needed the reminder myself.

Student became teacher and gave me the dharma talk I needed. At the time, I don’t think either of us realized that conversation was becoming a turning point.

Over the past several months, I’ve watched her transform and not because yoga magically changed her life, but because SHE CHOSE to change it. She committed to herself. Her healing.

She kept showing up, came to 1:1 sessions with intention, came to group classes, practiced on the days she didn’t feel like it. She stayed with herself when the old patterns would’ve been easier.

Today, when I asked about sharing her testimonial, she smiled and said,

“I could write a movie about how yoga changed my life.”

But truthfully, it wasn’t just yoga. It was her commitment.

1:1 work isn’t about having someone fix you. It’s about having someone walk beside you while you do the work that changes everything.

Growth happens because we choose to stay rooted.

If you’re ready to stop collecting advice and start creating lasting change, my 1:1 coaching is where that work begins.

“They say, ‘Yoga has changed you.’

I smile and think… I certainly hope so.

The goal was never to stay the same.
The goal was to become more aware. More grounded. More intentional.

Change isn’t a side effect of the practice.
It’s kind of the point.

Agency baby, love this journey for you 💪🤍

As someone who once lived in a constant state of survival, I know what it feels like to have a nervous system that’s always waiting for the next thing to go wrong.

For years, I thought being exhausted, overwhelmed, hypervigilant, and always “on” was just part of who I was.

Yoga didn’t magically fix my life.

What it did do was give me a way to begin supporting my nervous system instead of constantly fighting against it.

💨It taught me how to breathe when everything in me wanted to panic.

🐢How to slow down when my mind wanted to race.

🧠How to recognize what was happening in my body before it completely took over.

Little by little, my mat became a place where I practiced resilience. Not because life became easier, but because I became better equipped to move through it. That’s why I teach the way I do.

Not because I believe yoga is another quick fix, but because I’ve experienced what happens when you consistently give your nervous system moments of safety, awareness, and intentional movement.

You don’t have to earn peace. Sometimes it starts with one breath. Then another.

And eventually, those moments begin to shape the way you move through your life both on and off the mat. 🤍
