WHICH MAGNESIUM IS BEST?

Standard Process' research has shown that magnesium in E-Z Mg is superior to magnesium citrate and glycinate forms in crossing the blood brain barrier in a magnesium-deficient animal model.

E-Z Mg is made from two key ingredients – Swiss chard (beet leaf) and buckwheat – both grown on our sustainable and certified organic farm in Wisconsin. These plants, high in magnesium, contribute to the multiple forms of magnesium available in E-Z Mg, helping take the guesswork out of which kind of magnesium to take.

The naturally-occurring magnesium in E-Z Mg is not expected to contribute to gastrointestinal side effects that are common in other forms of magnesium supplements.

In an animal model, a low-magnesium diet (Low Mg) significantly reduced magnesium levels in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and red blood cells and was associated with anxiety-like behavior. After 14
days of supplementation, E-Z Mg™ increased CSF magnesium levels by 14.5% compared to the Low Mg diet and outperformed other common forms, including magnesium glycinate and citrate.

Over 40? Under 40? Low back pain?
Don't live on Ibuprofen!
Fix the actual problem instead of suffocating the symptoms.
Ibuprofen can cause stomach, kidney and liver damage.

Ibuprofen blocks certain enzyme pathways, leading to narrowing kidney blood vessels. This reduces oxygen delivery, risking acute kidney injury even in those with normal baseline kidney function.
Rarely, immune-mediated reactions or antigen-antibody deposits in kidney tissue may lead to more severe, long-term injury.

Liver injury from ibuprofen may occur via toxic metabolic byproducts or hypersensitivity/immune reactions, especially in those with pre-existing liver disease or when combined with other hepatotoxic medications. Up to 16% of NSAID users have mild liver enzyme elevations; severe injury occurs only in about 1–2 per 100,000 prescriptions.

Ibuprofen can cause a range of side effects, from mild stomach upset to serious cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, kidney, and allergic reactions.

Common side effects of ibuprofen may include:
Stomach pain, nausea, or indigestion due to irritation of the stomach lining.

Heartburn or acid reflux, especially if taken on an empty stomach.

Dizziness or headache, which may result from changes in blood pressure or dehydration.

Allergic skin reactions such as rashes, itching, or hives .

More severe reactions require immediate medical attention:
Gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, or perforation, which can occur without warning and are more likely in older adults, smokers, alcohol users, or those with a history of ulcers .

Cardiovascular risks, including heart attack, stroke, or other thrombotic events, particularly in people with pre-existing heart disease.

Kidney problems, such as decreased urination, renal insufficiency, or renal failure, especially with long-term use or dehydration. Chronic analgesic nephropathy—including papillary necrosis—can develop in patients on high doses or with repeated use.

Severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis), presenting as difficulty breathing, wheezing, swelling of the face or throat, or rapid heartbeat.

Serious skin reactions, including Stevens-Johnson syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis, which are rare but potentially life-threatening .

Signs of heart problems, such as chest pain, irregular heartbeat, unusual flushing, or weakness.

Neurological symptoms, including fever, headache, stiff neck, or meningitis-like symptoms.

Long-Term and Special Considerations
Pregnancy: Using ibuprofen, especially after 20 weeks, can harm the unborn baby and cause heart or kidney problems

Elderly patients may be more susceptible to kidney issues and gastrointestinal complications.

Drug interactions: Ibuprofen can interact with blood thinners, steroids, certain antidepressants, and other NSAIDs, increasing the risk of bleeding or kidney damage.

Dependency: Regular long-term use can lead to psychological or behavioral dependence, masking underlying conditions.

07/09/2026

Reducing sleep by 1.5 hours per night for 6 weeks is associated with increases in body weight, waist circumference, and sedentary behaviour in adults with a high cardiometabolic risk. These findings suggest that even a moderate reduction in sleep duration can adversely affect energy balance and fat accumulation.

Results showed that during the sleep-restriction phase, actual sleep duration was reduced by a mean of 78.4 minutes per night compared with the adequate sleep phase. This restriction led to an average body weight increase of 0.45 kg and a 0.52 cm increase in waist circumference. Additionally, whole-body volume increased by 0.56 L.

Energy balance behaviours and biomarkers were also affected. Sedentary time increased by 17.2 minutes per day minutes during sleep restriction, while leptin levels were 2.03 ng/mL higher compared with the adequate sleep period.

The authors concluded that "prolonged exposure to moderately short sleep may lead to weight gain," adding that the findings highlight the "importance of discussing sleep duration at health care visits."

Background: Insufficient sleep is associated with obesity. However, the causal effect on weight status of chronic, mildly insufficient sleep and its potential variability by gender and menopausal status remain unknown. Objective: To explore the effect of 6 weeks of sleep restriction (SR) of 1.5 hour...

5 INGREDIENTS OR LESS!
Whether you have cancer OR trying to prevent cancer, if you are going to eat any processed foods, which we don’t recommend whatsoever, make sure there’s five ingredients or less. Cancer risk can be influenced by lifestyle factors, including diet. Choosing whole, minimally processed foods – such as those with fewer than five ingredients can help reduce exposure to additives and support overall health.

Learning and implementing small changes can make a big impact!
