It’s okay to grieve someone you never met.

I never knew Dolly Parton personally, but that doesn’t mean she wasn’t a part of my life. Some people touch us from a distance through their music, their words, their kindness, their humor, or simply through the way they chose to move through the world.

Dolly was one of those people for me.

I miss her. My heart genuinely hurts knowing she’s gone. And I know I’m far from alone in feeling that way. There’s something strangely comforting about seeing so many people grieving together, sharing stories, playing her music, and talking about what she meant to them.

Grief doesn’t require having known someone personally. Sometimes we grieve what they represented, how they made us feel, and the pieces of ourselves that grew because they existed.

So we keep loving her. We keep telling the stories. We keep playing the songs. And maybe most importantly, we keep being inspired by the way she lived with humor, generosity, authenticity, and a desire to leave the world a little better than she found it.

What a beautiful legacy to leave behind. 💕🦋

Sometimes, in order to serve others well, we have to give ourselves permission to pause.

Over the next several weeks, On Butterfly Wings will be taking a short break while I focus on learning, growing, and preparing for an exciting new chapter. This time away will allow me to continue my education, refine my services, and dream bigger about how I can best support both people and their beloved animals through end-of-life, grief, and remembrance.

This isn’t goodbye it’s simply a pause with purpose.

I plan to reopen in September with renewed energy, expanded knowledge, and some exciting things in the works that I can’t wait to share with you.

To every family who has trusted me during one of life’s most tender moments, thank you. It is one of the greatest honors of my life to walk alongside you.

Thank you for your patience, your encouragement, and your continued support of On Butterfly Wings. I can’t wait to see what this next chapter holds, and I look forward to serving you again in September.

With love and gratitude,

Liz 🦋

Death and art have been intertwined since the beginning of time.

We find our ancestors in tombs. We preserve love through ritual. Some of the most beautiful art in the world exists because we needed a way to remember.

That’s why I started making glass memorial pendants — not as something sad, but as something sacred. A piece of love you can carry every day.

Because love doesn’t end when the heart stops beating. 🕊️🫧

With the help of Glassadazical LLC I made some beutiful pendants from Serafina’s ashes. She will always be close to my heart. The round one reminds me of a tiny universe 💕
