I’m sharing a real, de-identified pathway for a man with overactive bladder to show how stepwise care can work. He started with behavioral strategies (bladder training, fluid timing) for 6-8 weeks-symptoms improved but not enough. New review: we analyzed outcomes after flap reconstruction for pressure injuries in medically complex patients (2015–2023). Key findings: high rates of postoperative complications—most commonly wound dehiscence and PI recurrence—and notable new pressure injuries at non-operative sites during recovery. Many patients had substantial comorbidities (anemia, malnutrition, preop osteomyelitis, urinary incontinence) and spinal cord injury was common. Bottom line: flap reconstruction can be necessary but carries significant risk in this population. Careful patient selection, preoperative optimization, and coordinated multidisciplinary postoperative care are essential.
