If you have SIBO let me share why antibiotics often don't help...at least not long-term.
If you’ve taken these antibiotics (you know which ones I’m referring to) they usually cost over a thousand dollars and are often not covered by insurance. You’ve likely experienced short term relief followed by a swift return of the SIBO symptoms.
Why?
Because the antibiotics wipe the slate clean. They WILL kill the overgrown bacteria...
..But they do nothing to repair the internal conditions that allowed SIBO to occur in the first place.
As a result, the symptoms return, whether it’s 2 weeks or 2 months later.
Do you know what one of the best antidotes to SIBO is?
Healthy stomach function.
Many people I work with have low stomach acid, called hypochlorhydria.
There are a number of reasons for this…
Stress
PPI medications
Antibiotic overuse
Poor diet
H. Pylori infection
And others…
Stomach acid acts as quality-control for the rest of the gut.
It activates pancreas, liver, and gallbladder function…
It digests food completely…
It kills pathogens in your food, protecting you from infections…
It creates proper pH conditions in the bowels that inhibit bacterial overgrowth.
There’s a reason God placed your stomach at the beginning of your digestive system - because it’s the cornerstone of digestion that influences everything else that happens downstream.
If this makes sense and you’d like to learn more I’ve put together a video on the proven system that I’ve used to help hundreds of others restore their digestion and get their lives back.
