🍂 Autumn looks even better when shared with future neighbors!​

We recently welcomed future residents and guests to An Autumn Afternoon at The Commons, a celebration filled with New England charm, live bluegrass music and delicious seasonal flavors.​

​From harvest-inspired treats and locally crafted ciders from Carlson Orchards Hard C***r to conversations with residents about clubs, committees and lifelong learning opportunities through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Tufts University, the afternoon offered a wonderful glimpse of life at The Commons.​

🏃 Residents and associates were off to the races at the 14th annual Scarecrow Classic 5K - Lincoln, MA! This year, 16 residents and 6 associates joined nearly 700 participants to support the Lincoln Land Conservation Trust.​

Some of our runners really ran away with the honors! 🏅 Congratulations to Jan R., Joyce P. and Bill L. on their first-place finishes, Judi F. on second place and Jim A. on third—all in their respective age categories!​

Residents traveled west from Lincoln for a step back in time at Old Sturbridge Village. 🏡 🕰️ They explored historic homes and shops, chatted with costumed historians and got a closer look at daily life in rural New England during the 1790s through the 1830s.​

Even the barnyard offered a lesson in history, where the Village’s “Dunghill Fowl” chickens reflected the hardy birds commonly kept by New England households of the era. 🐓🌾​

All told, it was a splendid day of history, discovery and good company. ✨

Art, nature and a beautiful day out in Lincoln! 🎨🌿 Residents recently explored deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, New England’s largest outdoor sculpture park.​

Among the highlights was Dorothy Dehner’s striking Fortissimo, the towering black aluminum sculpture pictured here. With pieces to discover around every turn and views stretching toward Flint’s Pond, it was the perfect outing for a little inspiration in the great outdoors.
