Excited to say I’m officially a board certified orthopedic clinical specialist. A lot of hard work went into prepping for this exam and I’m proud to have taken this next step. I know most don’t know or care what this means but it’s a goal I set for myself. The learning never stops so it’s on to the next challenge!

Shoulder mobility part II..
After opening up new range of motion in our joints, the most important thing we can do next is....USE IT! Rocket science I know...
This is a simple little drill to work on regaining control in that end range overhead position. This move in particular works nicely because it prevents you from compensating and using your back to gain more range...
Emphasis here is maintaining a straight elbow and driving that arm up towards the ceiling...
My mans was feeling himself in the background 😂

Shoulder mobility part II..
Shown is one of my favorite flows to get my shoulders geared up for any overhead movements...
I enjoy these because the use of the hand on the ground gives the shoulders a lot of feedback and allows us to work into end range @ the shoulders without too much compensation at the back...
We can even throw in a little toe touch to add in some rotation at the upper back as well as emphasize shoulder drive on the arm that remains on the ground...
The goal here is driving your arms away from the floor and head through your shoulders!

Groin strain/pull rehab..
As with most strain/pulls of muscles, we’re looking to not aggressively stretch the area in the early stages. As the healing process begins we can start to dynamically stress those tissues...
We’ll begin with exercises in more stable conditions such as the landmine cossack squat or an adductor bridge and eventually progress to more dynamic movements with greater instability

Last couple of more advanced exercises I might use with my patients dealing with back pain! The important piece is always maintaining that centered position.

Some of the staples I include in my patients rehab programs for those experiencing back pain. These exercises promote the ability to appropriately brace your trunk as you move integrating the body as a whole. No more sets of 100 crunches please 😇

Meniscus injury😅..
Having knee pain? Worried it might be your meniscus?..
There’s a few signs and symptoms we can cluster together which might indicate there’s a good chance you might have some meniscal issues...
These signs include if you have pain when fully extending or bending your knee, tenderness along the inside or outside of your knee, or pain when standing on your leg with a slight bend and twisting ( shown in order)...
There’s both good and bad news, if you’re positive for all of these things, there is likely some meniscus involvement BUT it doesn’t mean we can’t fix it!..
Given the proper exercises and guidance we can get your knee feeling good and back to your normal activities pain free...
Questions about your knee or how physical therapy can help a meniscus enjury? Shoot me a DM or drop a comment below!

Plantar fasciitis Return to running and sport 🔥..
Running and any kind of plyometric activity will place a ton of load through the plantar fascia so it’s important that we also phase into these activities before directly going back into them...
Use of TRX straps remains my go-to for gentle progressions into loading the lower extremity. The use of the UE allows us slightly de-load the lower extremity if necessary but also allows us to focus on the foot and ankle complex...
Initially we can begin with bilateral small hops to larger squat jumps like demonstrates. Once we’re comfortable here, we move over to single leg. The emphasis here is her foot position and controlled motion through the lowering phase...
Lastly we can work on speed and maximal turnover such as the hurdle jumps seen in the last video. The goal here is landing, absorbing, and immediately producing force to progress over the next hurdle. These are at the higher levels of our rehab and should be completely pain free at this point!
