Primary care is the backbone of our healthcare system, yet too often we’re treated more like data entry clerks—expected to see more patients in less time with declining reimbursement.

It’s no surprise fewer medical students and residents are choosing primary care.

This is one of the many reasons I chose DPC. I believe it’s a better way to practice medicine—and models like DPC may be what ultimately saves the primary care profession.

I didn’t leave traditional medicine because I stopped loving medicine.

I left because I loved it too much.

I wanted to slow down, listen longer, and know my patients beyond their chart. I wanted to practice with intention instead of rushing from room to room. And I wanted to create a life where I could show up fully—not just for my patients, but for my family too.

That’s my why. And it’s the reason Coral Direct Primary Care exists.

One of my favorite things about the Direct Primary Care movement is the people it brings together. 💙

I had a special visitor at Coral DPC today — Dr. Anne from Emerald Health DPC & Aesthetics and Anne Gonzalez, MD | DPC Life Podcast! Even while enjoying a beach vacation, she took the time to stop by the office, and I loved getting the chance to connect, swap ideas, and talk all things DPC.

The DPC community is unlike anything else in medicine. It’s a group of physicians who genuinely want to see each other succeed because we all share the same mission: bringing better, more personal healthcare back to our patients.

One of the best parts of coming home from the DPC Summit was getting right back to what it’s all about—taking care of patients.

After an inspiring weekend filled with fresh ideas and conversations with incredible people in the DPC movement, I came home even more excited about the future of Coral DPC. Moments like this are exactly why I do what I do, and I can’t wait to continue bringing the best of Direct Primary Care to our community.
