The sports medicine clinic will be named the Dr. Bob Gullett Clinic for Sports Medicine in recognition of their incredible support.

A $1.5 million investment in the future of orthopaedic care!

The Schmieding Foundation has committed $1.5 million to support the UAMS Health Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Hospital in Springdale. The 85,000-square-foot facility will expand access to comprehensive orthopaedic and sports medicine care in Northwest Arkansas, including surgery, sports performance, physical therapy, MRI and more.

We are grateful to the Schmieding Foundation for helping make this vision a reality and investing in the future of healthcare across our state. Construction is on track for completion in spring 2027.

Huge congratulations to David Bumpass, M.D., orthopaedic spine surgeon at UAMS - University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, on being selected for the 2026–2027 L.E.A.D. SRS Cohort!

The L.E.A.D. SRS (Leadership, Education and Development) program identifies and develops the next generation of leaders within the Scoliosis Research Society.

Dr. Bumpass was one of just 17 spine surgeons from around the world—and one of only 9 from the United States—selected for this year’s cohort. 🌎

Over the course of this year-long program, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the SRS while developing the leadership skills needed to make a meaningful impact on the future of spine care, research and education.
