I am starting a little upcycling with things in my own closet! Before I took a trip to the thrift store to look for things to upcycle, I thought I would look at some of the things I don’t wear in my closet.

I didn’t like the dress because the elastic is right at my bra line.



Because I keep track of where I wore my clothing, I could see on the Wear You’ve Been hanger tag that I only wore this dress three times in six years. Scroll through to see what I did!

I cut off the bodice and then found some thick elastic in my sewing stash that I could use as a waistband rather than making a new casing and putting a new elastic. I had exactly enough to fit around me.

Let’s see how it does as a skirt! I already wore it once last weekend in New York City with a black sleeveless blouse and sandals. It looked great and was comfortable, and now the pockets are where they should be, on my hips instead of on my stomach. It was a weird made dress. 👗
