A few weeks ago, I was gifted this dress.
Not because I bought it… but because I had the privilege of helping change lives through our health program.
The woman who wore it before me is absolutely stunning. Tall. Elegant. The kind of woman who makes you think, “There’s no way I can pull this off.”
And before I even zipped it up… the comparison started.
“Will I fill her shoes?”
“Will I look as good as she did?”
It’s amazing how quickly that old voice can show up, even after years of personal growth.
It reminded me of the woman I used to be before losing nearly 30 pounds. Back when comparison stole my confidence before I even gave myself a chance.
The truth is, the dress was never the issue.
The mindset was.
For more than eight years, I’ve worked just as hard on my mind as I have on my health. Daily readers. Leadership books. Personal development. Choosing new thoughts over old stories. That work has changed me as much as nutrition ever did.
And here’s what happened…
I put on the dress anyway.
I felt incredible. I had energy. I felt strong. I received compliment after compliment from women all night long. And I realized something:
I wasn’t supposed to fill someone else’s shoes.
I was supposed to wear the dress as me.
That’s what growth looks like.
Yes, those comparison thoughts still knock on the door sometimes. But they don’t get to move in anymore.
If you’re comparing yourself to someone else’s body, success, confidence, or chapter in life… please know you’re not alone. Even those of us who coach and lead others still have to choose our thoughts every single day.
Keep doing the inner work.
Keep fueling your body.
Keep believing that your story deserves space too.
And for me, feeling this good was made even sweeter by nourishing my body with our new Trilivy MetaVantage fuelings. Stable energy, balanced blood sugars, and feeling like my healthiest self gave me the confidence to stop listening to the lies and simply enjoy the moment.
You don’t have to become someone else to be enough.
You just have to stop talking yourself out of the person you’re already becoming. ❤️
