A nonverbal 6-year-old went missing at Brandywine Creek State Park in Delaware. Police K-9 FiasKo followed his scent into a secluded wooded area, where searchers found him barefoot, muddy, and wet beside a pond.

Thankfully, he was in good health and reunited with his family. ❤️

Stories like this remind us that finding someone is only part of the challenge. When a child is nonverbal, frightened, or unable to explain who they are, how can the person helping them know who to call?

A woman out on a run in Superior, Colorado was struck by lightning and left unconscious. Her phone was severely damaged, she had no ID on her, and responders had to ask the public for help identifying her.

Yes, lightning is a freak accident. But the bigger lesson is not.

In any emergency, a phone can be destroyed, lost, locked, or dead. That is why backup identification matters.

When a 68-year-old man with Alzheimer’s disappeared on foot, he had no working phone, no credit cards, and no vehicle. He was found safe later that night, but the story highlights a hard truth: when someone becomes confused or can’t explain who they are, every minute matters.

🏃‍♂️ Local 5K + Autism Awareness Event – May 9th 🧩
Hey everyone, just wanted to share a great local event coming up:
The Carbon Valley Half Marathon & 5K is happening on Saturday, May 9, and it’s all in support of autism research through Children’s Hospital Colorado.
It’s a really solid community event with a few options:
Half marathon event
5K event
Fun run
Vendors, booths, and activities
Even if you’re not into running, it’s still worth coming out, there will be plenty of vendors and things to check out, and it’s a great way to support a meaningful cause and enjoy a fun local atmosphere.
