"The Act" came out on 11 October 2019 and turns seven today. It was the first The Devil Wears Prada album for Solid State, and number seven in the discography.

Jonathan Gering produced it. Before that came "Transit Blues" in 2016 on Rise, the label that also put out "Dear Love: A Beautiful Discord" in 2006. In between they passed through Ferret Music for "With Roots Above and Branches Below" and "Dead Throne", then Roadrunner for "8:18". The 2019 record shipped on CD and digital.

Solid State has kept them since: "ZII" in 2021, "Color Decay" in 2022 and "Flowers" this year. Nothing has been announced for this anniversary. The fanbase still splits over whether "Dead Throne" or "The Act" is the record that defines the band.

THE ACT:
1. Switchblade
2. Lines of Your Hands
3. Chemical
4. Wave of Youth
5. Please Say No
6. The Thread
7. Numb
8. Isn’t It Strange?
9. Diamond Lost
10. As Kids
11. Even Though
12. Spiderhead

Gideon released "Out of Control" on October 11, 2019, through Equal Vision Records. Seven years today.

The release landed on a Friday, the standard release day by 2019, when most of the scene met a new record in a streaming queue rather than on a shelf. Gideon was an American band sitting on a roster that had carried hardcore and post hardcore acts for years, and the album followed the path the group had already been taking on Equal Vision.

Nothing has been announced around the anniversary, no reissue and no run of dates built on it. The date and the label stay exactly as they were in 2019. The argument over whether this is the record where Gideon stopped being a hardcore band has never settled.

OUT OF CONTROL:
1. welcome to S town
2. SLEEP
3. TAKE ME
4. 2 CLOSE
5. LOW LIFE
6. SOUTHWIND
7. STYLE
8. OUTLAW
9. LIFE WITHOUT
10. DENIAL
11. out of control
12. BITE DOWN

Motionless in White released "If It's Dead, We'll Kill It" on October 9, 2012. Fourteen years ago today. It was the second single pulled from "Infamous".

Jason Suecof and Tim Skold produced the record, a pairing that put metal engineering and industrial rock on the same credit sheet. Fearless Records worked "Infamous" single by single through 2012, and this one followed the album's lead single.

Nothing has been announced around the date. No reissue, no statement. Fans still argue over whether "Infamous" or the record before it is the one that defines the band.

Senses Fail released "The Priest and the Matador" on 9 October 2007. The track came off "Still Searching", issued by Vagrant Records and produced by Brian McTernan. Nineteen years today.

The single landed as a video in 2007, with Vagrant a fixture of those Warped Tour summers. A song moved then through a MySpace profile and a burned CD passed hand to hand. McTernan had produced the full album for the label.

The date here belongs to the video rather than to the single listing, so this anniversary sits apart from the album date. Nothing has been announced for number twenty next year. Fans still argue over whether "Let It Enfold You" or "Still Searching" is the record that defines the band.

Gideon put out "2 Close" on October 8, 2019, with Drew York of Stray from the Path on guest vocals. The song turns seven today.

It came from "Out of Control", issued through Rude Records and Equal Vision, the album where Gideon pushed furthest from the metalcore records that made their name. The video arrived the same day as the track. Guest spots traded between bands sharing festival bills were everywhere in hardcore that year, and this one put two touring circuits on the same song.

No reissue or anniversary edition has been announced. Fans still argue over whether "Out of Control" is where Gideon found their sound or walked out on the old one.

"Common Courtesy" turns 13 today. A Day to Remember put the record out on October 8, 2013 through ADTR Records, the band's own imprint.

It was album four. The Ocala band had started on Indianola with "And Their Name Was Treason" in 2005, then spent the next two records on Victory, "For Those Who Have Heart" in 2007 and "Homesick" in 2009. In 2013 the sleeve carried neither logo, the first full length since the debut without Victory attached to it.

Thirteen years on, the album sits in the catalogue as the dividing line between the Victory run and everything the band has done since. Nothing has been announced for the anniversary. The argument over whether "Homesick" or this one is the record that defines them hasn't moved an inch.

COMMON COURTESY:
1. City of Ocala
2. Right Back at It Again
3. Sometimes You're the Hammer, Sometimes You're the Nail
4. Dead & Buried
5. Best of Me
6. I'm Already Gone
7. Violence (Enough Is Enough)
8. Life @ 11
9. I Surrender
10. Life Lessons Learned the Hard Way
11. End of Me
12. The Document Speaks for Itself
13. I Remember
14. Leave All the Lights On

Knuckle Puck released "Want Me Around" on October 6, 2017, as the third single pulled from "Shapeshifter". The song turns nine today.

Seth Henderson produced "Shapeshifter" for Rise Records, and "Want Me Around" entered the Rise catalogue of 2017 as the third track lifted from the album, issued to streaming services rather than pressed as a seven inch. Reference entries log that streaming release in the body of the article and not in the summary box.

Nine years on, the song sits in the middle of the single run that carried the record, with no reissue attached to it. The band has announced no date tied to the album. Nothing has been said about a tenth anniversary run next year.
