When someone enters detox, families may feel relieved that help has begun and anxious about what happens next. Both feelings can exist at the same time.

During the early days, care may focus on safety, stabilization, rest, and assessment. Communication may also look different while the clinical team responds to the individual’s immediate needs.

At DetoxLA, we encourage families to ask:

• How will updates be handled?
• What releases are needed?
• When can communication occur?
• What support is available for our family?

You deserve clear information and compassionate guidance, too.

If your family is considering detox for someone you love, call our team at (844) 609-0158. We can help you understand the process.

You do not need a perfect plan before asking for help.

You may only know that something needs to change. You may be unsure whether detox is appropriate, worried about withdrawal, or trying to understand what treatment would mean for your family.

Those questions are enough to begin a conversation.

At DetoxLA, our team can listen to what is happening, explain available options, and help you better understand what may come next. Calling does not mean you have to make every decision that day.

Start with the question that has been on your mind. Call DetoxLA at (844) 609-0158 or visit detoxla.com.

Every life lost to overdose was more than a statistic.

They were parents, children, partners, friends, coworkers, and members of a community. Their lives deserve to be remembered with dignity, and the people who loved them deserve support without stigma.

On International Overdose Awareness Day, DetoxLA joins families and communities in remembering those lost while continuing the work of prevention.

We can all help by learning the signs of overdose, improving access to naloxone, talking openly about fentanyl, and responding to substance use with compassion.

Share this post in remembrance of a life that mattered. If someone you care about needs treatment support, call (844) 609-0158 or visit detoxla.com.

Grief does not follow a timetable.

It can return years later, surface in the middle of an ordinary day, or change how someone sleeps, connects, and moves through life. There is no correct way to carry a loss.

At DetoxLA, we understand that grief can also affect mental health, substance use, and recovery. Recognizing that connection is not about labeling someone’s pain. It is about making room for what they are experiencing and helping them feel less alone.

Today, we honor remembrance, patience, and the courage it takes to keep showing up.

Reach out to someone who may be grieving today. If grief and substance use are becoming difficult to manage, call DetoxLA at (844) 609-0158.

The beginning of detox may come with fear, exhaustion, and uncertainty. The environment should not add to that feeling.

At DetoxLA, we have created a calm, comfortable space where clients can rest, ask questions, and focus on their immediate needs. Our goal is to help the first days of care feel less overwhelming and more human.

A welcoming setting cannot replace quality clinical care, but it can support dignity, communication, and a greater sense of ease during a vulnerable time.

Preparing for detox can feel overwhelming, so packing should be kept as simple as possible.

Common items may include:

✓ Photo identification and insurance information
✓ Comfortable, approved clothing
✓ A current list of medications
✓ Essential toiletries that meet facility guidelines

Every program has different policies. Before packing medications, electronics, personal-care products, or other belongings, ask the admissions team what is permitted.

A quick conversation before arrival can prevent extra stress later.

Save this checklist, then call DetoxLA at (844) 609-0158 to confirm exactly what to bring.

Privacy concerns can keep someone from reaching out, especially when they are unsure who will know, what will be shared, or how their information will be handled.

At DetoxLA, we want individuals and families to feel comfortable asking questions before making a decision.

You can ask:

• How will my information be protected?
• Who can receive updates about my care?
• What requires my written permission?
• How do releases of information work?

You are allowed to understand the process before signing anything. Clear answers can help treatment feel safer and more manageable.

To ask questions about privacy or the admissions process, call our team at (844) 609-0158 or visit detoxla.com.

A pill that looks familiar may not contain what someone expects.

Illegally manufactured fentanyl can be present in counterfeit pills made to resemble legitimate prescriptions. Because the risk is not always visible, honest conversations and reliable information matter.

At DetoxLA, we believe prevention should come without shame. Talk openly with the people you love, learn about naloxone, and make space for someone to ask for help without fear of judgment.

One compassionate conversation can make a meaningful difference.

Please share this post to help more families understand the risk. If you or someone you love needs support, call DetoxLA at (844) 609-0158 or visit detoxla.com.
