A new era of nerve preservation in surgery is here.
Dr. Ryan F. Osborne recently had the opportunity to incorporate the Dendrite Imaging System during surgery, an innovative technology that allows surgeons to visualize nerves in real time using their natural autofluorescence—without dyes or direct contact.
Dr. Osborne was honored to be the first surgeon in the United States to use the technology in a live surgery.
Traditionally, identifying nerves has relied on anatomy, experience, and standard operating room lighting. Dendrite adds another layer of confidence by making both motor and sensory nerves visible during surgery, helping surgeons better distinguish delicate neural structures from the surrounding tissue.
