It’s my birthday today! 🌈

This week, a very little person built the Playroom out of magnatiles (to perfect scale with windows and yard included), and it hit me that the place I’ve been building in my heart, mind, and hands for the last ~8 years has become exactly what I hoped it would be. A place for kids to feel successful and connected, no matter what.

This year Sensories has expanded in space, staff, and community partners, and I’m continually humbled by the gift it is to work with every family we encounter. On my birthday I am resting, and reflecting on what an honor and responsibility it is to build this community well for all of you. I am grateful!! 🤍

We are seeking a volunteer for summer programming! This is a wonderful opportunity for students in the fields of OT, PT, ST, Mental Health, and Education, as well as practitioners seeking mentorship and experience in neuroaffirming care and/or the DIR® Model. Primary need is Wednesday morning availability, but we are always hoping to build our volunteer community, so reach out even if your availability is different. 🫶🏼 Form is linked in bio!

Check out this amazing group offering ASL immersive play groups for our Deaf and Hard of Hearing community in Louisville. 🫶🏼 We can’t wait to welcome you!

Join us to explore the Arctic and its animals through hands-on, ASL-rich activities. Kids will meet a REAL Arctic explorer and learn about her adventures in ASL!

Dr. Heidi Givens, 2024 Grosvenor Teacher Fellow and Teacher of the Deaf from Lexington, KY, will be joining us to share about her adventures to the Arctic with National Geographic Education and Lindblad Expeditions

A collaboration of Louisville Academy of Music and Sensories Playroom.

Children of ALL abilities can explore rhythm, melody, and musical foundations while fostering connection, regulation, and shared joy. Pediatric OTs prepare the environment and support individual sensory and motor needs, ensuring every child can fully participate in the gift of music with preschool music specialist, Anna.
