This July is UV Safety Month! ☀️Most skin cancers are a direct result of UV, and it’s important to remember to take proper precautions when reveling in the summer sun. For our elders, sun and skin care is especially important. Remember to stay safe in the sun by:
- Seeking shade when appropriate
- Wearing sun-protective clothing
- Applying a broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher

As summer flies by, it’s important to keep these tips in mind when spending time outdoors with loved ones and elders!

No matter the weather, we find ways to be together! 💚 Social time is so important for the well-being of our elders. Even when it’s rainy, hot, or just plain unpleasant outdoors, our creative Activities Director finds ways to keep residents having fun and enjoying life. From indoor co****le to afternoons of crafting and bingo, Michelle always thinks outside the box when it comes to activities.

✨ Employee Spotlight: Magnolia ✨ Since joining our team in June 2024, Magnolia has become a beloved face around the Altenheim community. She's known for her sweet, friendly demeanor and wonderful work ethic.

Magnolia is incredibly precise and particular about her work, consistently ensuring our environment is cared for to the highest standard. Alongside her dedication to keeping the facility beautiful, she brings a unique and joyful touch to her daily rounds.

Magnolia enjoys bringing a different stuffed animal with her each day to share with the residents, creating a fun conversation piece and a sweet daily tradition that everyone genuinely looks forward to.

"I love the residents here and I want to do my very best as a housekeeper and to make people smile." she said.

Her dedication to our community goes well beyond her regular duties. After her Friday shift concludes, Magnolia loves staying to join the residents for afternoon karaoke events, bringing her wonderful energy to the gathering.

Both our residents and staff have grown to truly love Magnolia. Thank you, Magnolia, for your precise care, your bright spirit, and for going above and beyond to bring smiles to our community!
