But so does this question: What did they believe would happen if they told me the truth?

Sometimes we’re so focused on stopping the lie that we miss the reason they were afraid to tell us. 🤍

Not because they don’t trust you...

Because they’ve learned what happens when they tell you everything.

Separate the story from the lesson.
