Yesterday we treated the residents and staff with an ice cream truck! We brought the ice cream shop to Gill (Thank you Cruisin’ Cow)! Next the residents are looking forward to the lobster bake that we have planned for August 18th! We enjoy going above and beyond for our residents.
There is still a lot of life to live after moving into a nursing home, and a lot of fun to be had! If you or a loved one would like more information about a short stay (rehab or respite) or long term care, contact us today!

Congratulations to Jody F., LNA for being chosen as Gill Home’s Employee of the Month. Jody has been with us for over 11 years. She is very good with the residents, takes her time, and is always willing to help. Jody received an extra 8 hours paid time off, a gift certificate to Singleton’s, a pin, a plaque, and the use of the EOM parking spot for the month. Congratulations Jody, well deserved!

Last month the residents made blueberry cobbler with Nutrition with Meg while learning the health benefits of blueberries. Blueberries are a nutrient-dense food packed with fiber, vitamin C, vitamin K, and powerful antioxidants called anthocyanins that protect cells, lower inflammation, and support heart, brain, and gut health.
During today’s Nutrition with Meg, the residents learned of the nutritional benefits of berries and made mixed berry tarts. Raspberries are a good source of potassium, fiber, and antioxidants that work together to regulate blood pressure and support healthy blood vessels.
For next month the residents chose to stick with the fruit theme and picked apples as the focus food.
Here are some photos of both events.
