From research, we know that marginalized communities often face a unique set of stigmas, barriers, and socioeconomic factors that impact mental health and su***de risk.

But we also know that su***de can be prevented. By making mental health care more accessible and creating inclusive support systems, we can break down these barriers and save lives. Visit our website: afsp.org to explore resources. ❤️‍🩹🔗

A lot of conversations about men’s mental health focus on getting men to talk. While that is really important, another part of su***de prevention is reducing access to lethal means during a crisis.

Men account for nearly 4 out of every 5 su***de deaths in the United States.
And nearly 61% of male su***de deaths involve a firearm.

Many suicidal crises are temporary. Creating time, space, and support between a person and lethal means can save lives.

We lose more than 500,000 men to su***de every year worldwide.
44,000 a month.
10,000 a week.
1,400 a day.
60 every hour.
And 1 every minute.

Please don’t suffer alone. It’s not weak to ask for help. Mental health resources are always available at twloha.com/find-help.

Today, we're still thinking about our 4th annual community Chalk and Walk with Gamma Iota Omega Chapter of AKA last week...

We are so grateful to our partners, vendors, speakers, and members who showed up and brought the energy, passion, positivity (and the free food and fun!)

The Chalk and Walk event partnership is all about spreading positive messages to our community, letting them know there is help and support, and normalizing the conversation around mental health.

We hope you had a chance to see some of the chalk messages and yard signs from your fellow community members, but if not, check out the event pics below and stay tuned to see what we have planned next!

U good bro?

A lot of guys are used to being the one people count on, but everybody needs a place where they can be real sometimes.

This June, we're inviting the men in our communities to join us for our 2nd annual round of "Barbershop Talks"—honest but laid-back conversations about life, stress, family, work, mental health, and whatever else is on your mind.

No pressure, no judgment, no lectures. This isn't a therapy session- just a group of men talking honestly about what it means to carry responsibilities, handle stress, support others, and take care of ourselves along the way.

Free pizza, snacks, drinks, and swag bags.

Whether you're doing great, having a tough season, or just want to connect with other men in the community, there's a seat for you.

Come through, share, listen, and learn. Let’s build each other up.

June 6– Paulie's Barber Shop & Company
June 13– Hill City Cuts Barbershop
June 20– Ted & Ted’s Barber Shoppe LLC
June 27– The Cutting Room

Mental health awareness does not end here. The conversations we start today can carry forward into our families, our communities, and future generations. Keep checking in, keep listening, and keep showing up.

Caring for one another also means creating safe spaces at home. Taking steps like locking medications, securing fi****ms, and talking openly about difficult emotions can help protect the people we love. These actions are part of how we create healthier, safer futures across every generation.

Save or share this as a reminder for yourselves and others.

Starting a conversation about mental health doesn't have to be complicated. It can be as simple as sending a text, asking how someone is really doing, or letting them know you are there. These small moments can open the door to real connection, understanding, and support for every generation.

Who will you check in on this week? Maybe it is a parent, a grandparent, a friend, or a young person navigating a changing world.

Let us know in the comments!

The small moments matter more than we think. A quick text. A short call. Sitting and listening without distraction. These everyday actions can help someone feel safe, seen, and supported. They may seem simple, but they can make a lasting difference across every generation.

What is one small way you show up for someone in your life?
