Gardens of Hope RCO

Gardens of Hope RCO A RCO is led and governed by representatives of local communities of recovery.

Public education, policy advocacy, outreach programs, and peer-based recovery support help individuals find long-term recovery in our community.

Investing in Toombs County means investing in all our citizens—including those inside the Detention Center.

At the Charles Durst Detention Center, we have implemented Inmate Education, Recovery, and Re-Entry programs focused on one goal: giving incarcerated citizens the resources they need to return home as successful, contributing members of this community.

We meet people where they are on their journey. Education. Recovery. Reentry. That is not extra. That is public safety.

Motivation for Change (M4C) is part of our Education, Recovery, and Reentry work inside the jail — giving incarcerated citizens tools to change how they think, not just how they serve time. We meet people where they are so they can return home as contributing members of this community.

🎉 Happy Birthday to our very own Amy Cruz! 🎂💜

Today we celebrate someone who has been an incredible asset to Gardens of Hope since day one!

As our CPS-P and Community Liaison, Amy leads the way in supporting parents and families while also keeping us connected and involved in so many activities throughout our commUNITY. Whether she’s encouraging a parent, building relationships with our partners, or representing Gardens of Hope at an event, Amy brings compassion, dedication, and a true servant’s heart to everything she does.

Amy, we are incredibly grateful for all you do, but even more grateful for who you are. You have been a huge part of this organization from the very beginning, and we love you very much!

Please help us wish Amy Cruz a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 🎈🎉 We hope your day is as special as you are to the Gardens of Hope family! 💜

Today we celebrate a man who truly wears many hats at Gardens of Hope! Jacob helps with transports, is in the jails every week, works in the schools a couple times a week, and even stays late on Thursdays to help with our Lions Quest program for adjudicated youth.

Jacob is one of those people who is always willing to step up wherever he’s needed. He is truly a backbone of this organization, and we couldn’t do what we do without his dedication and hard work.

We are incredibly grateful for you, Jacob, and everything you pour into Gardens of Hope and the people we serve.

Happy Birthday, brother! Now go enjoy those Topgolf tickets—you’ve earned it! 🎂⛳️🎉

Help us wish Jacob a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

“Individually, we are one drop. Together, we are an ocean.” — Ryunosuke Satoro

Gardens of Hope RCO is thankful to the Rotary Club of Vidalia for giving us the opportunity to share about the programs and services we are providing throughout our community.

We were able to highlight the different work we are doing through funding from the Georgia Opioid Crisis Abatement Trust , CDC, Meadows New Foundation, DBHDD, and our Lions Quest grant—from recovery support and reentry services to youth prevention, education, transportation, and connecting individuals and families with resources.

We also briefly discussed the importance of having Narcan available and provided Narcan training to those in attendance.

We are grateful for opportunities like this to share what’s happening in our community and build partnerships that help us continue reaching more people.

Thank you, Vidalia Rotary Club, for having us!
