Congrats to Casey and our partners at Monroe County Hospital!

Some leaders are hired. Others are homegrown. Casey Fleckenstein, CEO of Monroe County Hospital, is the latter — and Becker's Hospital Review just named her one of the Top 146 Rural Hospital and Health System Presidents and CEOs to Know in 2026.

Casey first walked through MCH's doors as a high school student doing clinical rotations and never left. Over 20+ years she worked her way from bedside nurse through emergency management, case management, and CNO before being named CEO in January 2026 — bringing a ground-up understanding of the hospital and the community it serves.

Under her leadership, MCH reopened its OR for cardiac procedures, grew its swing bed program, expanded specialty care and earned HomeTown Health's Hospital of the Year. This is what happens when passion, purpose, and deep community roots align - and when a community invests in its own.
