Meet Mady!

Mady earned her Bachelor’s in Exercise Science from Western Michigan University before serving in the U.S. Air Force, where she worked as an EMT and Operational Medical Technician at Luke AFB—caring for active duty members and helping clear patients for deployment and pilots to fly.

She recently earned her CCMA certification and has a strong interest in ultrasound, sports medicine, and orthopedics.

Outside of work, she loves traveling, hiking, camping, and music festivals. Her goal is to become a travel nurse in the future!

We’re so glad to have her on our team! 💙

Tidbit Tuesday: What is Ultrasound-Guided Foam Sclerotherapy (UGFS)?

Ultrasound-Guided Foam Sclerotherapy (UGFS) is a minimally invasive treatment used to close smaller branch veins (tributary veins) that remain after treating larger veins.

In many patients with venous insufficiency, the first step is treating the larger underlying veins (called truncal veins) with procedures such as radiofrequency ablation. Once those veins are closed, smaller veins that branch off them may still need treatment.

That’s where UGFS comes in.

During the procedure:
• A specialized foam medication is injected into the vein
• Ultrasound guidance allows the provider to see the vein in real time
• The foam causes the vein walls to close and the body gradually reroutes blood through healthier veins

Over time, the treated vein is naturally absorbed by the body, improving both symptoms and appearance.

At Vein Center of Wisconsin, UGFS is often an important next step after ablation to fully treat venous disease and help patients achieve the best outcomes.
