Maize Mental Health Intervention Team The purpose of the Mental Health Intervention Team is to provide and connect students to mental health support.

This is achieved through three school-based therapists, six behavioral health liaisons, and a partnership with Comcare of Sedgwick County.

Today is Children's Mental Health Awareness Day — a reminder that every child deserves to feel safe, supported, heard, and connected. 💚

Mental health is just as important as physical health, and early support can make a lifelong difference. Whether it’s offering a listening ear, teaching coping skills, building positive relationships, or connecting students and families with resources, every act of support matters.

If you or someone you know is struggling emotionally, support is available. The 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline provides free, confidential support 24/7 by calling or texting 988.

To all of our students, families, educators, counselors, social workers, psychologists, nurses, and community partners: thank you for helping create spaces where children can grow, learn, and thrive.

Let’s continue working together to reduce stigma, encourage help-seeking, and remind young people that they are never alone.

✔ Packing materials the night before
✔ Morning check-ins
✔ Predictable after-school time

Routines do not need to be rigid — they just provide a sense of stability.

Small structure often reduces big stress.

Spring break can bring rest, fun, travel, changes in routine — and sometimes difficulty settling back in.

As we return this week, remember:

It is normal for students (and adults) to need time to readjust.

A few ways to support a smoother return:
✔ Keep expectations realistic
✔ Focus on one task at a time
✔ Re-establish routines gradually
✔ Give yourself grace

Resetting takes time, and that is okay. 💛

The holidays can make it tempting to put everyone else first. This is your reminder that caring for yourself matters, too. You don’t have to please everyone to be worthy of rest, care, and compassion.
