This is Red. Part of his job is to supply the raw materials for our organic compost.
He and his buddies make a lot of manure --- about 40 cubic yards each month! Horse manure and plant materials add the nitrogen, water falls out of the sky and we have plenty of fresh air here in rural Virginia. All that's left is labor to turn the pile, and that's my job. The piles are turned at least once a week.
Unlike commercial compost, our compost contains no bio-solids (sewage sludge), toxins, medical waste or chemicals. All we add is coffee grounds from our friends at Confluence Coffee Company here in RVA.
