Dear friends, I have decided to no longer use Facebook, unless absolutely necessary. I just want to live in peace. If you'd like to connect, please reach out in person, send me an email, check out my website or find me on Instagram.

Did I catch your attention with this picture? Good. As I need to vent…
(And for those of you who are wondering what the f.. is sitting on my head: it’s a monitor for a sleep study. But that’s not the point here.)

The other day some petty cash was stolen from both of our cars, right in front of our house. We’ve lived here for more than 12 years and have never locked our cars, and have never had any issues.

I wasn’t upset about the coins, but I did feel upset about the fact that apparently we don’t live in a “safe neighborhood” anymore.
In the little town we live we have a Facebook group in which residents share information and questions about local events and issues. I don’t do Facebook anymore (and I’m painfully reminded why…), but I posted in this group what had happened and asked if anyone else has had this experience.

You wouldn’t believe the 45+ comments I got….

Instead of showing any kind of compassion (again, I’m not bothered by the loss of the coins, but some stranger DID get in our cars uninvited!), or acknowledgement that it’s sad our little town is changing so much, this is what I got:

“Lock.Your.Car. Stupid!”

WTF?! Really?! Is this what has come from the world?! That we’re blaming the “victim” for the injustice (or worse) that’s been done onto them? That’s like saying to a girl who got r***d: “Well, you shouldn’t have worn such a short skirt.”

Of course, I understand that loosing some cash from your car is nothing compared to being r***d. But the concept is the same here: blaming the victim instead of looking at what’s wrong in the world and doing something about it.

And yes, I also know that I’m a white privileged woman, and that these things happen all the time, especially to people that identify as bipoc. That’s how messed up our world has become.

Can we all come back to remembering our inherent interconnectedness? Can we all return to decency, and respect for one another? That would be great.

Ps. I hope the person who got our cash bought themselves something they really needed (not wanted).

Ps. 2. If you’re reading this on Facebook it is because Instagram automatically posts on Facebook. I won’t be reading your comments though….

Women rights are human rights.
Once again, I’m appalled by the (white) patriarchy in this country. How is it even legal that a government can decide over a woman’s body?! And don’t tell me that it’s because Christianity prohibits killing. As far as I know the death penalty is still legal in Texas.

(And no, I haven’t forgotten about Afghanistan..)

And I have a new phone with a mega good camera, so I can’t stop taking pictures of this handsome dude…😉

This morning I realized something important. ⭐️

During a practice with the question came up what I’d like to manifest? How would I draw that towards me?

Nothing came to mind. I didn’t even want to give it some thought. I clearly felt: right now I don’t feel like manifesting anything!
I don’t want to think about what I want. Or don’t want, for that matter.
I just want to be. I want to live in the moment. To be open to receive, and to face the unknown.
I don’t want to make a vision board, or a business plan, or a “what should next year look like” list.
I want to nap when I’m tired (which is often). I want to spend time with my loved ones (even if it is virtual). I want to be in nature, be in awe of the beauty around me, marvel at my cats.
I want to be like me when I was one-year old and everything was still a mystery.

Let’s all make the present moment the new future, ok?
