Although sports betting may feel like a fast way to earn money, there are financial risks. Start creating healthy, financial habits that teach you how to budget and save money. When you stop counting on “luck,” your future self and your wallet will thank you.

Create a monthly budget for yourself— prioritize paying for your bills and groceries first. This will help you build that healthy financial habit of spending money on what’s important, and then using the rest on extracurricular activities, versus the other way around.

International Overdose Awareness Day is August 31st, this year the theme for IOAD is 25 Years On. Still Needed. For 25 years, International Overdose Awareness Day has brought people together to remember those we’ve lost and to take action to save lives.

For people who use substances and those who don’t. For heartbroken friends and family members of lost loved ones. For activists who fight for sorely needed policy reform. For healthcare and harm reduction workers. For tireless advocates. Overdose can affect anyone, and we encourage you to remember the tenacity of our community. Lean into the power that we can have when we work together.

This International Overdose Awareness Day, we honor the lives lost to overdose, support those affected by substance use, and take action to help save lives.

One simple way to make a difference is by taking a REVIVE! training. REVIVE! teaches you how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose, respond in an emergency, and administer naloxone, a medication that can temporarily reverse an opioid overdose while waiting for emergency medical services.

You don't have to be a healthcare professional to learn these lifesaving skills. By becoming REVIVE! trained, you could be prepared to help a friend, family member, neighbor, or even a stranger during a critical moment.

This August 31, let's remember those we've lost by committing to education, compassion, and action. Together, we can reduce stigma, support recovery, and build a healthier, safer community.
