Movement based learning is such an important part of early childhood development. Yoga, gymnastics, music, and movement activities help children build so much more than just physical skills. They strengthen balance, coordination, core muscles, body awareness, focus, confidence, and emotional regulation all while feeling like play.
What I love most is how naturally children learn through movement. When we introduce age appropriate skills during yoga, dance, gymnastics, music, and even educational screen time, their brains are making powerful connections. They are learning to follow directions, practice patience, improve memory, solve problems, communicate, and express themselves creatively.
Rainy days do not have to mean endless chaos indoors. Activities like this give children healthy ways to burn energy, reset their emotions, and engage their growing minds. One of my favorite things lately is hearing the kids ask for “screen time” because they want to practice sight words, learn Spanish, do yoga, dance, or sing along with movement activities. That shift shows how much children thrive when learning is made fun, active, and engaging.
Their little minds and bodies are growing so fast right now, and this kind of play is not “extra.” It is critical. Play based movement builds the foundation for lifelong learning, confidence, healthy habits, and emotional well being. And honestly… watching them light up while learning this way is one of the best parts of the day. ❤️
