Peer Support Specialist Jessie Smith shared his story at two In Our Own Voice presentations at Blue Cliff College () and New Orleans Police Department Crisis Intervention Team training () this past week. Jessie's powerful story is one of hope and recovery and we are proud to have him spreading awareness.

Our Northshore Day center clients and residents took a break from all the rain last week with a trip to Global Wildlife Center. They had a great time getting up close and feeding all the animals. 🦒🐂

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. 💚

At the New Orleans Police Department’s 7th District, we recognize that mental health is just as important as physical health. This month serves as a reminder that it is okay to ask for help, check on one another, and have open conversations about mental wellness.

No one should feel like they have to struggle in silence. Resources, support, and hope are available, and sometimes a simple conversation can make a meaningful difference.

You are not alone. Help is here. Hope is real. 💚
