Rumination is more than overthinking.

Research has shown that repetitive negative thought patterns can contribute to the onset, persistence, and recurrence of depression. Emerging evidence also suggests that ketamine may influence some of the neural networks involved in self-referential thinking and cognitive flexibility.

In Ketamine Korner: Edition 14, we explore the relationship between ketamine, rumination, and the brain networks that may contribute to emotional suffering.

Walking for just 10–15 minutes a day might sound simple, but it’s one of the most powerful habits you can build for your brain and body.

A short daily walk improves blood flow to the brain, reduces stress hormones, and boosts mood-regulating chemicals like serotonin and dopamine. It can help with better sleep, sharper focus, and even emotional balance.

You don’t need fancy equipment or a gym — just a pair of shoes and a few mindful minutes outside. Start small, but stay consistent. The brain loves routine movement.

Great Day 2 at !

Another day of learning, networking and catching up with old friends!

Exciting to see so much evolve since last year APA, with regards to new treatments available in mental health.

Some key takeaways from today:

1. If patients with schizophrenia that are treated with Xanomeline-Trospium (Cobenfy) experience GI side effects, best way to overcome this is to titrate up to maximum dose (125 mg/30 mg), as the higher dose of Trospium (30 mg) helps mitigate peripherally the GI adverse effects.

2. In patients with treatment resistant schizophrenia, clozapine is 30% effective in this population, with olanzapine coming 2nd at 7-9%.

3. Over 50% of Bipolar patients have a co-morbid metabolic condition, and there crucial to liase with primary care physicians to provide comprehensive care for this patient population, both medically and psychiatricslly.
