🍎 Pre-K Counts Spots Available—Apply Today! 🧸

Lancaster Rec currently has four openings in our FREE Pre-K Counts program for eligible families!

Children enjoy a safe, nurturing and engaging environment where learning happens through play, exploration and discovery. Our experienced educators provide high-quality learning aligned with Pennsylvania’s Early Learning Standards while helping children build confidence, friendships and skills for future success.

📚 Program hours: 8 a.m.–3 p.m.
🥣 Breakfast and lunch are provided
💲 FREE for eligible families

To complete the enrollment process, families must provide:

✅ Proof of income, such as pay stubs or a W-2
✅ A physical and immunization records from within the past year
✅ Enrollment completed in Lancaster Rec's system
✅ A completed 2026–2027 Pre-K Counts enrollment packet, which will be emailed after the previous step is completed

With only four spots remaining, we encourage interested families to apply as soon as possible!

If you were around someone with measles, watch for symptoms. Symptoms usually begin about 1–2 weeks after exposure, but can take up to 21 days to appear. Common signs include:
• A high fever (sometimes above 104°F)
• Cough
• Runny nose
• Red, watery eyes
• Rash
There’s no specific treatment for measles. Contact your health care provider—they can help manage complications and guide you on supportive care.

Local fair season has begun in Lancaster County! Check out some upcoming local fairs happening in Elizabethtown, Denver, Solanco, Ephrata, West Lampeter, New Holland and Manheim in the upcoming weeks! Fairs are great activities for families to enjoy together and connects families with the local community. There are often games, rides, food, agricultural experiences and much, much more.

Lancaster County Early Intervention can support children with developmental delays and/or disabilities and their families/caregivers to participate in activities in the local community. If your family is receiving Lancaster County Early Intervention developmental services and you are planning a trip to a local fair in the next couple of weeks, talk with your Interventionist or Therapist about some ways to help prepare your child for attending the fair. They also can work together with you to share some developmental strategies and activities that you can do with your child while at the fair to promote their learning and development!
