She specializes in treating arthritis, injuries, fractures/trauma, and musculoskeletal tumors, and performs a wide range of procedures including joint replacements (hip, knee, shoulder, wrist/hand), fracture care, sports injuries, and foot and hand conditions. A Michigan native, Dr. Rubert completed her medical degree and orthopedic training in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, followed by fellowship training in Washington, D.C. Josh Hood, PA-C, joined the Orthopedic Team at Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital in 2023. A Newberry, Michigan native, Josh earned his undergraduate degree from Grand Valley State University, where he also worked as a CNA in multiple nursing homes. He completed his Physician Assistant master’s program through GVSU’s Traverse City satellite campus, which emphasizes rural healthcare—aligning with his goal to return to the Upper Peninsula. All of his clinical rotations were completed in the U.P., including three at Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital. Together, Josh Hood, PA-C, and Dr. Rubert provide experienced, patient-centered orthopedic care close to home for our community.
