Tonsillitis can be caused by either a bacterial or viral infection, and symptoms include sore throat, difficulty swallowing, fever, swollen lymph nodes (glands), fatigue, and bad breath. It can usually be treated with antibiotics but if reinfections are occurring, it might be time to explore surgery.
