This women’s philanthropic and public service club was founded in 1930 and continues to this day with the same goals of supporting the quality of life in McCall. The Progressive Club was involved in many early projects that served the community. The club established the Cemetery Foundation who coordinated the village cemetery on land donated by the Brown family. The club helped to establish the Mc
Call Public Library, which started with a few shelves in an abandoned lady's restroom of a garage. The club was active in the early McCall Winter Carnivals by building floats for the parade, making ice sculptures and timing races. In the spring and summer, the club planted flowers in parks and barrels along the main streets.
